THE BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK FOR BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS GETS UNDERWAY TODAY AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH FEBRUARY.
The selection of Basketball Players of the Week for both boys and girls in Section V gets under way today and will continue through February. The program will be sponsored for the third year by Birds Eye Foods whose headquarters are based in Rochester. The selection of the players each week will be made by coaches, former coaches, and athletic directors in association with active coaches who offer their counsel. Players who are chosen receive certificates suitable for framing.

FIRST-WEEK BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
ALLEGANY COUNTY: No Nominations.
CITY CATHOLIC: Nate Dukes of Freddie Thomas. Dukes had 23 points, five steals and five assists in a loss to Elmira Southside in the first round of the Gates-Chili Tip Off Tournament. He had 14 points in a loss to Charlotte in the conciliation game.
FINGER LAKES EAST: No Nominations.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Ryan Schenck of Dundee. A 6-foot-1 senior forward, Schenck helped the Scots win their inaugural Tip Off tournament. In the opening round Dundee defeated Hammondsport 63-31 and in the championship game squeezed past Marcus Whitman 50-45 in overtime. Schenck totaled 23 points and 21 rebounds for the tournament and was named MVP.
GENESEE: No Nominations.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Mike Nowatzki of Wayland-Cohocton. Nowatzki, a 5-foot-7 senior guard, had 18 points and seven rebounds against Canisteo-Greenwood and 14 points and eight rebounds against Attica in leading Wayland-Cohocton to the championship of the Warsaw Tournament.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Travis Tones of Letchworth. Tones, a 6-foot-3 senior guard, had 13 points, eight rebounds, three blocked shots and three steals against Sir Winston Churchill and 24 points, seven rebounds and three steals against East Rochester in leading Letchworth to the tournament championship. He was named MVP.
MONROE COUNTY I: Chad Dillard of Gates-Chili. Dillard, a 6-foot-4 senior forward, scored 24 points against Elmira and 27 points against Charlotte to earn MVP honors at the Gate-Chili Tip Off Tournament.
MONROE COUNTY II: Devin Turner of Greece Olympia. Turner scored 24 points, including eight in the fourth quarter, to help Olympia win its season opener.
MONROE COUNTY III: Mark Scarlata of Greece Odyssey. Scarlata, a 5-foot-7 junior guard, scored 10 points in a win over Williamson and 12 points in a loss against Penn Yan in the Williamson Tip Off Tournament.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: No Nominations.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Nick Smith of Arkport. Smith was the Allegany IAABO Tournament MVP scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the championship game.
WAYNE COUNTY: No Nominations.
FIRST BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V GIRLS' BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Patty Capwell of Canaseraga. A senior guard, Capwell scored 20 points and had10 steals against Campbell-Savona in the Bath Tip Off Tournament. She was voted MVP as Canaseraga defeated Bath and Campbell to win the championship.
ALLEGANY COUNTY II: Kristen Moose of Canaseraga. A junior guard, Moose recorded a double double against Bath-Haverling with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Against Campbell-Savona she had 10 points and eight assists. She was named to the all-tournament team.
FINGER LAKES EAST: Kensey Keller of Palmyra-Macedon. A junior guard, Keller had 18 points, eight rebounds and three steals in 44-38 win over Victor. She was two-for-two from three-point range and four-for-four from the foul line.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Jahna Humphrey of Harley-Allendale-Columbia. A sophomore guard/forward, Humphrey had 36 Points and 27 rebounds in a win and a loss to open the season.
GENESEE: No Nominations.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY: No Nominations.
MONROE COUNTY: Brittany Mazurkiewicz of Batavia. Mazurkiewicz, a 5-foot-5 senior guard, had 35 points, 11 steals and four assists against Alexander in the first game of the Attica Tournament. Batavia went on to win the tournament and Mazurkiewicz was named MVP.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: No Nominations.
ROCHESTER LEAGUE: No Nominations.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Jessica Button of Bradford. Button, a 5-foot-6 senior guard, had 14 points, 15 rebounds, nine steals and four assists in a win and a loss last week. She was named to the Bradford Tournament All-Tournament Team.
WAYNE COUNTY: Shannon McGinnis of Gananda. McGinnis, a sophomore guard/forward, averaged 18 points and six steals while earning the MVP award in the York Tip Off Tournament.

SECOND BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
ALLEGANY COUNTY: No Nominations.
CITY CATHOLIC: Eric Miles of Wilson Magnet. Miles, a 6-foot senior guard, had 23 points, and six steals in Wilson’s 64-55 win over Charlotte.. He then had a quad-double … 10 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals in a 59-44 win over Gates-Chili.
FINGER LAKES EAST: Steve Palmer and Collin Camp of Wayne. Palmer, a 6-foot-2 guard/forward, had 15 points and eight rebounds in a 76-61 win over Mynderse in the Wayne Tournament. Then he had 9 points and 10 rebounds in a 64-51 championship win over Canandaigua. Camp, a 6-foot senior guard, had 16 points, five assists and five steals against Mynderse and 11 points, six assists and five rebounds against Canandaigua. Both were named to the All-Tournament team and Camp was named MVP.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Jonny Benjamin of Harley-Allendale-Columbia. A 6-foot-1 senior guard, Benjamin had 18 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and five assists as HAC defeated Red Jacket 52-41. In a 76-62 loss to Caledonia-Mumford, he had 30 points, five rebounds and five assists.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Dave Nasradinaj of Caledonia-Mumford. Nasradinaj, a senior guard, had 24 points and four rebounds in a win over Wheatland-Chili and 14 points and six rebounds in a win over Harley-Allendale-Columbia.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Eric Valentino of York. Valentino, a senior guard, had 14 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to Hornell and 18 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Leroy.
MONROE COUNTY I: Kenny Henry of Hilton. Henry, a 6-foot-4 forward/center, scored 10 points in a win over Brockport, 13 points in a win over Spencerport and 20 points, along with nine rebounds and five blocked shots in a win over Brighton in the championship game of the Spencerport CVC Tournament. He was name MVP.
MONROE COUNTY II: RJ Kalb of Greece-Athena. Kalb, a 6-foot-6 senior forward/center scored 12 points and collected 10 rebounds in a win over Penfield and scored 12 points in a win over Greece-Arcadia to earn MVP honors of the Greece Tip-Off Tournament.
MONROE COUNTY III: Lee Lomanzo and Tyler Brooks of Victor. Lomanzo and Brooks … Victor’s backcourt … combined for 47 points, 12 steals and 15 assists in wins over Wayne and Honeoye Falls-Lima to capture their home tip-off tournament.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Alex Baron of Aquinas. Sophomore forward, Baron, scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Aquinas over Canisius at the Catarac Classic in Niagara Falls.
STEUBEN COUNTY: No Nominations.
WAYNE COUNTY: Aron Bell of Lyons. Bell, a junior guard, had 14 points, including two three-pointers in a win over North Rose-Wolcott; 17 points, including two three-pointers in a loss to Geneva; and 23 points, including three three-pointers and six-for-six from the foul line in a win over Waterloo. He was named to the All-Tournament Team in the Waterloo Tournament.
SECOND BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Marilynn Schoen of Whitesville. A sophomore post player, Schoen scored 18 points, grabbed six rebounds and had three assists and three steals in just 15 minutes of play in a win over Scio.
ALLEGANY COUNTY II: Mercedes Mosher of Andover. A senior forward/center, Mosher had a double-double in each of Andover’s three games last week. She averaged 17 points and 13 rebounds per game in a win against class C Addison and two losses to Class DD Genesee Valley and Jasper-Troupsburg.
FINGER LAKES EAST: Alyssa Fenyn of Newark. A senior guard/forward, Fenyn had 22 points and nine rebounds against Mercy; 29 points and 13 rebounds against Queensbury; and 18 points and 10 rebounds against Shenendehowa.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Jenn Hudson of Bloomfield. A senior forward, Hudson accumulated 73 points, 22 steals, 11 assists and 23 rebounds over three games last week, including 42 points and 11 steals in a win over south Seneca.
GENESEE I: Julie Brooks of Holley. A sophomore forward, Brooks hit two free throws with 13 seconds left to send her team’s first game into overtime. Holly won it 39-32 for its first win in two years. Brooks finished with 22 points and 19 rebounds..
GENESEE II: Molly Burgess of Lyndonville. A junior forward, Burgess scored 40 points in the two games of the Barker Tournament. She had 10 points and nine rebounds in her team’s victory over the host Barker Red Raiders. She was selected to the All-Tournament Team.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Leslie Havens of Wayland-Cohocton and Margaret Infantino of Dansville. Havens, a senior guard/forward, averaged 22 points, seven rebounds, and seven steals in victories over Geneseo and Honeoye Falls-Lima. Her week’s accomplishments also included the game winning shot in the closing seconds against Honeoye Falls. Infantino, a senior guard/forward, had 22 points and 12 rebounds against Wellsville, 14 points and 11 rebounds against Attica and 18 points and nine rebounds against “Batavia.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Amie Brooks of Pavilion. Brooks, a junior guard, scored 22 points, had eight assists and made seven steals in a win over Letchworth.
MONROE COUNTY I: Allyson DiMagno of Fairport. DiMagno, a junior forward, scored 45 points and grabbed 23 rebounds over two games in the Arcadia Tournament and was named MVP.
MONROE COUNTY II: Nicole Lawson of Churchville-Chili. Lawson, a sophomore guard, scored a career-high 32 points against Bryon-Bergen and finished the week recording 48 points, 24 rebounds and 14 steals in two victories.
MONROE COUNTY III: Brenna Bauer of Brighton. Bauer, a senior guard, scored a career-high 29 points against Brockport, finishing the week with 60 points in three games including seven three-pointers. She was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Katie Sweeting Tournament.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Mary Kate Tierney of Mercy. Tierney, a 5-foot-11 junior guard/forward, averaged 15 points and 14 rebounds over two games … one a close loss to Newark and the other a win over Greece Olympia.
ROCHESTER LEAGUE: Shaniece Brown of School of the Arts. Brown, a 5-foot-3 sophomore point guard, had career highs in points and steals with 29 and 14 in a win against Monroe. She also had four rebounds.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Katie Wyant of Jasper-Troupsburg. Wyant, a 5-foot-4 senior guard, had 18 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in a 51-24 win over Canaseraga.
WAYNE COUNTY: Katie DeMay of North Rose Wolcott. DeMay, a senior guard, averaged 22 points, four assists and three rebounds over three games last week.

THIRD BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY: Matt Dean of Fillmore. Dean, a 6-foot-1 sophomore forward, scored 29 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a 77-72 victory over Belfast. He also held Belfast’s top player in check in leading Fillmore to its third victory without a defeat.
CITY CATHOLIC: William Mason of Monroe. Masons, a 6-foot-i senior forward, scored 24 points in a victory over Jefferson.
FINGER LAKES EAST: Cal Andrews of Marcus Whitman. Andrews, a 6-foot sophomore guard scored 20 points with four assists and five rebounds in a win over Mynderse. He also had 22 points with three steals in a loss to Palmyra-Macedon.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Zach Alsheimer of South Seneca. A 6-foot junior forward, Alsheimer lead the Falcons to an overtime win over DeSales. He had 26 points and 16 rebounds.
GENESEE I: Tate Westermeier of Attica. A 6-foot junior guard, Westermeier scored 20 points and had five assists in a comeback win over Pembroke. Then, against Byron-Bergen, he led the Blue Devils back from a 16-point deficit to a 54-47 win. He had 19 points and five rebounds in this game.
GENESEE II: Kevin Francis of Notre Dame-Batavia. A 6-foot senior guard, Francis scored 22 points with six assists and four steals in a 92-36 win over Lyndonville and then scored 28 points (three-for-three on three-point shots) with eight assists and nine steals in a 80-42 victory over Kendall.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Matt Girolmo of Livonia. Girolmo, a senior forward, had 19 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots in a win over Letchworth. He also had 10 points and six rebounds in a win over Dansville.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Travis Tones of Letchworth. Tones, a senior guard, had 30 points, eight rebounds and three steals in a loss to Livonia. Then he had 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists in a win over Caledonia-Mumford.
MONROE COUNTY I: Mike Glenn of Fairport. Glenn, a 6-foot-4 senior guard, scored 23 points in a win over Edison and collected 29 points, nine rebounds, four steals and four blocks in a win over Utica Proctor.
MONROE COUNTY II: Jordan Heath of Irondequoit. Heath, a 6-foot-8 senior center collected 22 points, 10 rebounds and eight blocked shots in a win over Eastridge and scored 18 points in a win over Webster Thomas.
MONROE COUNTY III: Pat O’Keefe of Pittsford Sutherland. A 6-foot senior guard, O’Keefe scored 14 points in a win over Jefferson, 12 points in a win over Aquinas and 17 points in a win over Brighton.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Dwayne Smith of Aquinas. A senior point guard, Smith, had 12 points, four steals and five assists in 57-55 loss to Pittsford Sutherland. He then had 15 points, five assists and five steals in a 63-49 win over Pittsford Mendon.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Garrett Parker of Prattsburgh. A 6-foot-4 junior guard/forward, Parker, had 21 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in the Vikings win over Canisteo-Greenwood.
WAYNE COUNTY: Sal Iannello of Marion. Iannello, a 6-foot senior guard, hit two free throws to force overtime against Lyons. Then he scored the final six points for his team in overtime to help his team win by one point. Overall, he had 33 points, seven rebounds and seven steals.
THIRD BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Kristen Moose of Canaseraga. A junior guard, Moose Averaged 19 points, seven rebounds and five steals in wins over Boliver-Richburg and Genesee Valley.
ALLEGANY COUNTY II: Nichole Meehan of Whitesville. A sophomore post player, Meehan, playing only half the game against Andover, had her first double, double…10 points and 10 rebounds. She also had five blocked shots, two assists and a steal.
FINGER LAKES EAST: Marissa Bunce and Alyssa Fenyn of Newark. A senior guard, Bunce reached 1,000 points for her career against Midlakes, scoring 19 points in the game. Senior guard/forward Fenyn reached the 2,000 points mark for her career with 31 points against Midlakes. She also had 28 points in a win over Canandaigua.
FINGER LAKES WEST: No Nominations.
GENESEE I: Hillary Bates of Oakfield. A senior point guard, Bates led a young Oakfield team to league victories over Byron-Bergen and Holley. She averaged eight points, five assists and five steals in those games.
GENESEE II: Trisha Pike of Notre Dame-Batavia. A junior point guard, Pike scored 27 points in her team’s victories over Lyndonville and Kendall. She also led the team in rebounds, assists and steals.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Ashley Amidon of Dansville. Amidon, a senior forward, had 12 points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots in a win over LeRoy. She also had 12 points … including the game winning shot with 2.5 seconds left … along with nine rebounds against Livonia.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Marcy Manning of Avon. Manning, a senior center, had 11 point, 17 rebounds, five steals and five blocked shots in a win over Livonia. She also had 15 points, 20 rebounds and five blocked shots in a win over York.
MONROE COUNTY I: Lindsay Kendall of Gates-Chili. Kendall, a senior forward, scored 58 points last week in two wins. Included was the 1,000th point of her career.
MONROE COUNTY II: Abby Kmiecinski of Webster Thomas. Kmiecinski, a senior guard/forward, scored 40 points in a win and a loss last week.
MONROE COUNTY III: Jenee Vanderstyne of Victor. Vanderstyne, a senior guard and captain, had 24 points, 15 steals, and six assists in two games
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: No Nominations.
ROCHESTER LEAGUE: Corinne Wellington of Wilson. Wellington, a 6-foot-2 senior center scored 27 points and grabbed 17 rebounds while blocking two shots in a win over Marshall helping Wilson reach 3-0.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Raegan Ryan of Canisteo-Greenwood. Ryan, a 5-foot-5 sophomore point guard, had 28 points and eight rebounds in a loss to Jasper-Troupsburg. Then she had 22 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Prattsburgh.
WAYNE COUNTY: Brittani Bove of Marion. Bove, a sophomore guard, averaged 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals during two wins last week.

FOURTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Sam Stephens of Friendship. Stephens, a forward, scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds in his first game of the year, a 43-41 loss to Canasaraga.
ALLEGANY COUNTY II: Tom Hennessy of Wellsville. Hennessy, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, scored 23 points and had six steals in his team’s win over Wayland-Cohocton and he scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds in ther defeat of Genesee Valley.
CITY CATHOLIC: No Nominations.
FINGER LAKES EAST: No Nominations.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Austin White of Honeoye. A 6-foot-1 senior guard/forward, White scored 18 points in a win over Romulus. The cornerstone of Honeoye’s defense, White had two steals and two blocks in the fourth quarter come-from-behind rally.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Bob Blodgett of Honeoye Falls-Lima. Blodgett, a 6-foot-5 sophomore center, had 21 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots in a win over School of the Arts.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Ricky Ryan of Warsaw. Ryan, a 6-foot-4 senior center, had 14 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots against York.
MONROE COUNTY I: Greg Witkowski of Webster Schroeder. Witkowski, a 6-foot-3 senior forward, scored 16 points in a win over Spencerport.
MONROE COUNTY II: Alec Robertson of Webster Thomas. Robertson, a 6-foot-3 junior forward collected 15 points, including five in the fourth quarter, in a win over Brockport.
MONROE COUNTY III: Glenn Taggart of Eastridge. A 6-foot-1 junior guard, Taggart scored 14 points, including six of nine free throws in the fourth quarter, in a win over Brighton.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Tyler Patterson of Aquinas. A 6-foot senior guard, Patterson, scored 18 points … including the game winning three at the buzzer … and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 61-59 win over Bishop Kearney. He then scored 16 points and had four blocked shots in a 61-54 win over rival McQuaid.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Ryan Caron of Prattsburgh. A 6-foot-2 senior forward, Caron scored 48 points with 13 rebounds and seven steals in a win over Bradford and a loss to Notre Dame-Batavia.
WAYNE COUNTY: Marshall Cowey of East Rochester. Cowey, a 6-foot-3 senior center, scored 17 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in a win over North Rose-Wolcott
FOURTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Desi Lyman of Genesee Valley. A 5-foot-10 junior forward, Lyman had two double-doubles last week. She scored 28 points with 22 rebounds against Scio and scored 19 points with 18 rebounds against Cuba-Rushford.
ALLEGANY COUNTY II: Brooke Jackson of Andover. A 5-foot-9 senior forward, Jackson averaged 13 points and eight rebounds in two losses against Fillmore and Canaseraga.
FINGER LAKES EAST: No Nominations.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Sarah Hart of Bloomfield. A 5-foot-8 junior guard, Hart has led her team to a 6-1 record. Last week she had 51 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists in wins over Naples and Romulus.
GENESEE: McKenzie Bezon of Elba. An eighth grade guard, Bezon scored 18 points to lead Elba to a 54-51 come back victory over Notre Dame-Batavia. She had four three-points in the game that saw Notre Dame lose its first game of the season.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Jessica Petruchik of Honeoye Falls-Lima. Petruchik, a 5-foot-10 senior forward/guard, scored 36 points and had 21 rebounds in three games at the KSA Disney Tournament and was named MVP in the bracket her team was in.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Cortney Chamberlain of Perry. Chamberlain, a 5-foot-10 junior guard/forward, had a career-high 23 points and nine rebounds in a win over LeRoy.
MONROE COUNTY I: Bernadette Davis of Rush-Henrietta. Davis, a 5-foot-10 senior forward, scored 19 points, eight steals and six rebounds in a win.
MONROE COUNTY II: Sarah Alwardt of Greece Athena. Alwardt, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, scored 19 points and had eight assists in a win.
MONROE COUNTY III: Leanna Brooks of Brighton. Brooks, a 5-foot-8 sophomore forward, had 12 points, and 11 rebounds in her team’s first victory of the season.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: No Nominations.
ROCHESTER LEAGUE: Ruby Cibulka of School of the Arts. Cibulka, a 5-foot-10 sophomore forward, had 17 points and eight rebounds in her team’s win over Marshall to improve to 5-1.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Jordana Schoolcraft of Prattsburg. Schoolcraft, a senior center, averaged 12 points and 12 rebounds in three games last week. This included a 17-point, 18-rebound day in a six-point win over Lima Christian. In the three-game span, Schoolcraft went 19 of 21 from the free throw line.

MONROE COUNTY I: Jansen Jones of Penfield. Jones, a 5-foot-10 senior guard, scored 18 points in a one-point loss to Victor; 17 points in a win over Spencerport; and 17 points with six rebounds, six assists and five steals in a win over Livonia..
MONROE COUNTY II: O’Shae Imes of Brockport. Imes had 15 points, eight rebounds and three steals in a win over Churchville-Chili and 24 points, 18 rebounds and six steals in a loss to Franklin.
MONROE COUNTY III: Lee Lomenzo of Victor. A 6-foot senior guard, Lomenzo amassed 33 points, eight rebounds, five assists and six steals in wins over Penfield and Hilton.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Brandon Smith - 6' Senior Forward - scored 18 pts on 9 for 11 shooting vs Avoca in the Prattsburgh Xmas Tourney. Also made the All tournament team.
WAYNE COUNTY: Collin Craft of Clyde-Savannah. Craft, a 6-foot-1 junior forward, scored 13 points including two threes in a win over Lyons.
FIFTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY: Patty Capwell and Kristen Moose of Canaseraga. A 5-foot-6 senior guard, Capwell had 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 55-41 win over Wellsville in the Coaches Versus Cancer Tournament at Keshequa. She also had 14 points in a 62-41 win over Andover.
Moose, a 5-foot-8 junior guard, had 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists against Wellsville and 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists against Andover

GENESEE: Nicole Sharick of Pembroke. A senior guard, Sharick scored five of her nine points against Oakfield to help Pembroke win in overtime. She also scored 20 points and had six rebounds in her team’s victory over Holley.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Cassie Pope of Livonia. Pope, a freshman center, recorded her first double double of her career. She finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to Pembroke.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Kelly Proper of Letchworth. Proper, a 5-foot-9 sophomore guard/forward, scored 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in a victory over Thomas Edison of Elmira Heights and had 10 points against Canisteo-Greenwood in the Christmas Classic at Alfred State. She was named to the All-Tournament Team.
MONROE COUNTY I: No Nominations.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Lauren Clark of Lima Christian. A 5-foot-9 freshman guard, Clark had 29 points in her team’s opening win against Naples in the DeSales Christmas Classic. She also had 14 rebounds. She then had 19 points … 10 in the fourth quarter … in a 37-31 win over DeSales.
ROCHESTER LEAGUE: Briana Seda of Marshall. Seda, a 5-foot-8 junior guard, scored 29 points, grabbed five rebonds and made three steals in a win over Jefferson.

SIXTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY: Brad Stevens of Whitesville. Stephens, a 5-foot-10 senior guard, was named MVP of the Allegany Counselor Classic. He had 10 points, six rebounds, five steals and five assists in a first round win over Bolivar-Richburg. Then he scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the championship game win over Fillmore.
CITY CATHOLIC: Clarence Johnson of Franklin and Terrance Finley of Freddie Thomas. Johnson, a 5-foot-7 senior point guard, had 11 points, 11 rebounds and five assists against Spencerport and 24 points, five rebounds and six assists against Brockport in the Brockport Tournament.
Finley, a 6-foot senior guard, rejoined the starting line up against Charlotte, having missed the first seven games of the season. He had 20 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and two blocked shots to help the Titans defeat the Lakesiders.
FINGER LAKES EAST: No Nominations.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Jared Smith of Honeoye. The Bulldogs’ 6-foot-3 senior forward, had 21 points and 10 rebounds in a first round overtime win over undefeated Gananda and followed that up with another r21 points and eight rebounds in the championship game win over Romulus in the Honeoye Holiday Tournament. Smith also was selected to the All-Tournament Team.
GENESEE I: Noah Seward of Oakfield-Alabama. Seward, a 6-foot-4 senior forward, scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds ina two-point loss to Marion and had 21 points and 12 rebounds in a consolation game victory over York. His play earned him All-Tournament honors.
GENESEE II: Erick VanWycke of Lyndonville. VanWycke, a 6-foot-5 senior forward, had 28 points and 11 rebounds and 13 points with 16 rebounds in losses to Lima Christian and Webster Christian.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Tyler Fenti of Honeoye Falls-Lima. Fenti, a 6-foot-1 junior guard had 34 points (with eight threes) and seven rebounds against Livonia; seven points and four rebounds against Pittsford Sutherland; and 19 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals against Greece Olympia.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Sean Mattle of Keshequa. Mattle, a 6-foot-3 sophomore forward, had 10 points, 14 rebounds and two blocked shots against Warsaw and 20 points, and 16 rebounds against Northstar in the Keshequa Tournament. He was named to the All Tournament Team.
MONROE COUNTY I: Dezerick Brooks of Rush-Henrietta. Brooks, a 6-foot-2 senior forward, scored 21 points, grabbed four rebounds and made three steals in a win over Edison. He also scored 15 points … including a key three-pointer in the final minute in a win over East.
MONROE COUNTY II: Jeremy Jackson of Irondequoit. Jackson, a 6-foot-3 senior forward, scored 12 points in a win over Greece Olympia and 18 points in a win over Pittsford Sutherland in the Irondequoit Tournament.
MONROE COUNTY III: Andrew Hoy of Batavia. A 5-foot-10, sophomore guard, Hoy scored 24 points in a win over Albion and 19 points against Batavia Notre Dame to earn MVP honors in the Batavia Holiday Tournament.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Zach Putnam and Tyler Patterson of Aquinas. Putnam, a senior forward had 43 points and 41 rebounds to earn MVP honors in the Gates-Chili Tournament. He also recorded 12 assists and eight steals over the three games. Patterson, a senior guard, scored 14, 13 and 18 points in the three wins. He also averaged five assists and five steals and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Ricci Wendlandt of Hammondsport. Wendlandt scored 17 points against Red Jacket and 13 against Clyde-Savannah in the Red Jacket Christmas Tournament and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

SIXTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Allison Richter of Fillmore. A 5-foot-4 senior guard, Richter scored a career high 20 points including three three-pointers. She also had four assists and four steals in a first round win in the Counselors Classic Tournament. She was also named to the All Tournament Team.
FINGER LAKES EAST: Jenni Robbins of Geneva and Ashley Zahn of Canandaigua. A 5-foot-3 senior guard had 55 points, 10 steals, and seven assists in wins over Waterloo and South Seneca and was named MVP of the Guardian Glass Tournament.
Zahn, a 5-foot-10 junior guard, had 25 points and five assists against Webster Schroeder; 27 points and seven assists against Niagara Falls; and 17 points and four assists against Wilson.
FINGER LAKES WEST: No nominations.
GENESEE I: Mary Cocking of Byron-Bergen. A senior forward, Cocking had 20 points and 17 rebounds in her team’s victory over Greece Odyssey in the Bergen Christmas Tournament. She added 14 points in their loss to Notre Dame Batavia in the finals.
GENESEE II: Nichole Hart of Notre Dame Batavia. A junior guard, Hart scored 44 points in her team’s victories over LeRoy and Byron-Bergen. She was named the MVP of the Bergen Christmas Tournament.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Alyssa Englert of Wayland-Cohocton. Englert, a 5-foot-9 junior guard, averaged 14 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals to help lead th Lady Eagles to the championship of the Wayland Lions Club Tournament … defeating Perry and Nazareth.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Morgan Howe of Keshequa. Howe, a 6-foot sophomore center, became the Francis “Pete” DiAngelo Most Valuable Player by scoring 26 points, grabbing 22 rebounds and making four steals in wins over Warsaw and Canaseraga.
MONROE COUNTY I: Lindsay Kendall of Gates-Chili. Kendall, a 5-foot-9 senior forward, scored 56 points and earned the MVP Award in the Gates-Chili Tournament.
MONROE COUNTY II: Keri Soppe of Irondequoit. Soppe, a 5-foot-8, sophomore guard, had 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in a win over Brighton.
MONROE COUNTY III: Kourtney Damann of Greece Odyssey. Damann, a 6-foot senior forward, scored a career-high and a school record 31 points in a win over Leroy. She also had eight boards, four steals and two blocked shots and was named to the Bergen Christmas All Tournament Team.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: No Nominations.
ROCHESTER LEAGUE: Danielle Tucker of East. Tucker, a 5-foot-8 senior forward, averaged 23 points, 19 rebounds and six blocked shots over two wins at the Livonia Tournament.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Morgan Penner of Prattsburg and Chloe Makarick of Hammondsport. Penner, a 5-foot-2 junior guard, sank five three-pointers in scoring 19 points in helping her team to a win. She also pulled down six boards and had two steals. Makarick, a 5-foot-8, senior forward, averaged 12 points and eight rebounds in winning Tournament MVP at the Hammondsport Holiday Tournament. Hammondsport defeated Avoca and Dundee.
WAYNE COUNTY: Olivia Suhr of Marion. Sophomore forward Suhr averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds and six steals while helping Marion win the Wayne Holiday Tournament. She was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Week 7 - Week of: January 6, 2009 to January 12, 2009
SEVENTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY: Dylan Lewis-Ellison of Whitesville. Lewis-Ellison, a 5-foot-9 junior guard, scored 21 points, grabbed five rebounds, handed out six assists made seven steals and blocked two shots in a win over Belfast. He then followed that up with 25 points, eight rebounds and 10 steals in the Bluejays’ win over Canaseraga.
CITY CATHOLIC: No Nominations.
FINGER LAKES EAST: Matt McCarthy of Canandaigua. McCarthy, a 6-foot-4 senior forward, scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against Geneva. Then McCarthy recorded another double-double scoring 18 points and grabbing a career-high 14 rebounds against Waterloo.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Drew Bardun of Red Jacket. The Indians’ 6-foot-2 senior guard/forward, had 31 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists, 10 steals and five rebounds in two wins over DeSales and Gananda.
GENESEE I: Ken Babcock of Pembroke. Babcock, a 6-foot-5 senior forward, scored 22 points and had six blocked shots against Byron-Bergen and 13 points, four blocks and 10 rebounds against Elba.
GENESEE II: Josh Laureno of Kendall. Laureno, a 6-foot senior guard, had 24 points, five assists and nine rebounds in a win over Lyndonville; 27 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds in a win against Alexander and 15 points, five assists and eight rebounds in a loss to Wheatland-Chili. He had key free throws in the last minute of play in the wins.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Kyle Murphy of Hornell. Murphy, a 6-foot-1 senior guard, had 13 points … including the winning three-pointer with five second left … along with three assists and three steals against Honeoye Falls-Lima. He followed that up with 17 points and four steals in a win over Bath.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Matt Phillips of Avon. Phillips, a 6-foot-3 senior forward, had 44 points (including 22 against Letchworth), 12 rebounds, nine assists and seven blocks in three games last week.
MONROE COUNTY I: Dane Miller of Rush-Henrietta. Miller, a 6-foot-7 senior center, scored 20 points in a win over Gates and 31 points along with 10 rebounds, seven assists, six steals and five blocked shots in a win over Webster Schroeder.
MONROE COUNTY II: Brandon Myles of Greece Olympia. Myles, a 6-foot-3 junior guard, scored 21 points in a win over Webster Thomas. He is averaging 19.1 points per game this season for Olympia.
MONROE COUNTY III: Nick Billow of Pittsford Mendon. A 6-foot-4, junior guard, Billow scored a career-high 34 points in a win over Brighton and 13 points against Eastridge.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Garrett Parker of Prattsburgh. A 6-foot-3 junior forward, Parker had 19 points, 11 rebounds and four steals in a win over Arkport.

SEVENTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Kristen Moose of Canaseraga and Susie Black of Fillmore. A 5-foot-8 junior guard, Moose had 28 points against Whitesville leading her team to first place in their league.
Black, a 6-foot, senior forward, averaged 16.5 points, 15.5 rebounds and five assists in two wins last week.
FINGER LAKES EAST: No Nominations.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Jenn Hudson of Bloomfield and Jahna Humphrey of Harley-Allendale Columbia. A 5-foot-9 senior forward, Hudson had 46 points and 12 steals in wins over Honeoye and Dundee.
Humphrey, a sophomore guard, had 36 points and 19 rebounds over two games against Northstar and Naples.
GENESEE I: Kelsey Lewis of Pembroke. A junior guard, Lewis scored 22 points and had nine rebounds and four steals in Pembroke’s games against Byron-Bergen and Elba.
GENESEE II: Lauren Drago of Wheatland-Chili. A senior guard, Drago scored a career high 35 points and added 12 rebounds, eight steals and five blocks in her team’s win over Holley. This included scoring 17 points in the third quarter to erase a five-point halftime deficit.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Christina Harmon of Caledonia-Mumford. Harmon, a 5-foot-8 senior forward/guard, scored five points but added nine rebounds, four steals and four assists in a win against Mt. Morris. Then she scored 15 with seven rebounds, three steals, two blocked shots in a win against LeRoy.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Amie Brooks of Pavilion. Brooks, a 5-foot-6 junior guard, scored 17 points (with three three-pointers), two rebounds, one assist and three steals in a win over Batavia Notre Dame. She had 12 points (with one three-pointer), four assists and five steals in a win over Mt. Morris. Next, she had 10 points (one three-pointer) three assists and three steals in the Batavia Rotary Girls Basketball Tournament Championship against Batavia and was named to the All-tournament Team. Finally, she had 12 points (one three-pointer) five rebounds, five assists and seven steals in a win over York.
MONROE COUNTY I: Colleen Coon of Penfield. Coon, a 5-foot-7 senior forward, scored 25 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in wins over Fairport and Gates-Chili.
MONROE COUNTY II: Shy Britton of Greece Arcadia. Britton, a 6-foot, junior forward, had 32 points, 21 rebounds, 11 blocks and eight steals in two wins.
MONROE COUNTY III: Jaycee Shirk of Baavia. Shirk, a 6-foot senior forward, averaged 13 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots in leading Batavia to a 3-0 record and the championship of the Batavia Rotary Girls Basketball Tournament. She was named MVP.

Week 8 - Week of: January 13, 2009 to January 20, 2009
EIGHTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY I: Matt Dean of Fillmore. Dean, a 6-foot-1, sophomore guard, had 34 points … including 15 for 15 from the foul line … in a win over Whitesville. He also contributed 13 points in a loss to C.G. Finney. He was also outstanding on the defensive end of thee court.
ALLEGANY II: Kris Roberts and Casey James of Scio. Roberts, a 6-foot-4, senior center, had 15 points, five blocks, three steals and five assists in a 51-47 win over Arkport. He then backed that up in an overtime loss to Andover (75-69) with 21 points, 21 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and seven assists.
Not to be outdone, teammate James, a 6-foot senior guard had 20 points (including five threes), 10 rebounds, two blocks, two steals and five assists against Arkport and then tallied 27 points (including four threes), four rebounds, eight steals and five assists against Andover.
CITY CATHOLIC: Jerold Brooks of East. Brooks, a 6-foot, senior guard, scored 33 points, handed out 11 assists and made seven steals against Franklin. Then he scored 41 points, had seven assists and made six steals against Monroe.
FINGER LAKES EAST: Conor Hennessy of Wayne. Hennessy, a 6-foot-2 senior forward, had 19 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks in a win over Marcus Whitman; 12 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks in a double overtime loss to Palmyra-Macedon; and 11 points (10 in the fourth quarter0, 10 rebounds and five blocks in a win over Midlakes.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Trevor Sanders of Red Jackets. The Indians’ 6-foot-2, sophomore guard/forward, helped Red Jacket secure three wins last week, scoring 63 points against Honeoye, Dundee and Harley Allendale-Columbia (HAC). This included setting a career high against Honeoye with 23 points (seven threes) and then breaking that with 30 points against HAC.
GENESEE I: Stephen George of Alexander. George, a 5-foot-9 junior guard, had 10 points, four assists and three steals against York. Then he had 11 points, four steals and four assists in helping Alexander break a four game losing streak against Wheatland-Chili.
GENESEE II: Phil Ostroski of Elba. Ostroski, a 6-foot-1 junior forward, had 12 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Attica and nine points and 12 rebounds in a win against Byron-Bergen.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Travis Tones of Letchworth. Tones, a 6-foot-3 senior guard, had 20 points, six steals and three assists against Keshequa and 19 points, seven rebounds, seven blocks, five assists and four steals against Leroy.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: John Housel of Avon. Housel, a 6-foot-5 senior forward, had 25 points and 21 rebounds in games against Warsaw and Pavilion.
MONROE COUNTY I: Teddy Tuggles of Gates-Chili. Tuggles, a 5-foot-7 senior guard, scored a team high 16 points in a win over Hilton.
MONROE COUNTY II: Casey Sheehan of Greece Athena. Sheehan, a 5-foot-9 junior guard, scored 14 points in a win over Churchville-Chili; 16 points in a win over Greece Arcadia; and 32 points, including 17 of his team’s first 24 points in a win over previously unbeaten Irondequoit.
MONROE COUNTY III: Wayne Dillworth of Pittsford Sutherland. A 5-foot-10, senior guard, Dillworth collected 15 points, seven rebounds four steals and three blocks in a win over Eastridge and scored 16 points in a win over Pittsford Mendon in the Rainbow Classic.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Darius Cox of Lima Christian. Cox, a 6-foot-2 senior forward/guard, had 30 points and grabbed 24 rebounds in his team’s wins over Canaseraga and Webster Christian. His shooting percntage was a remarkable 85%.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Ryan House of Hammondsport. A 5-foot-6 junior guard, House played a key role in all three wins for Hammondsport last week. He had 17 points, seven rebounds, six steals and six assists in an upset of Alfred-Almond. Then he had 16 points, five steals and three assists in a tight win over Avoca and he exploded for 23 points with three steals and three rebounds against Bradford.
WAYNE COUNTY: Chris Van Fleet of North Rose-Wolcott, Ryan Pudlowski of Red Creek and Jon Johnson of Williamson. A 5-foot-10 senior guard, Van Fleet had 14 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals in a win over Arkport.
Pudlowski, 6-foot-1 senior guard/forward, had 16 points in a win over Webster Christian and seven points including five of eight free throws in a win over Lyons.
Johnson, a 5-foot-10 junior guard, scored 40 points (14, 14 and 12) in three games last week.
EIGHTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY: Nichole Meehan and Stephany Ellison of Whitesville. A 6-foot sophomore post player, Meehan scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a loss to Fillmore and followed that with 19 points, 19 rebounds, four steals in a win over Bolivar-Richburg
Ellison, a 5-foot-7, sophomore point guard, scored 17 points and had three steals, three blocks and four assists against Fillmore. Then she scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds, made four steals and collected three assists against Bolivar Richburg.
FINGER LAKES EAST: Katelyn Sloan of Penn Yan. A senior guard, Sloan had 21 points (nine for nine from the free throw line) and four assists against Palmyra-Macedon.; 14 points (nine for 14 from the free throw line), seven rebounds, four steals and three assists against Romulus; and 18 points (10 for 12 from the free throw line), six rebounds and five assists against Marcus Whitman.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Stephanie Farnsworth of South Seneca. A 5-foot-9 junior guard/forward, Farnsworth had 43 points and 32 rebounds in two games last week.
GENESEE I: Brynne Perfitt of Oakfield-Alabama. A junior guard, Perfitt averaged 12 points, nine rebounds and four steals over three games last week.
GENESEE II: Brittany Morelli of Notre Dame Batavia. A senior forward, Morelli scored 28 points and had 20 rebounds in wins over Holley and Oakfield-Alabama.

MONROE COUNTY I: Abby Kmiecninski of Webster Thomas. Kmiecinski, a 5-foot-11 senior guard/forward, scored 22 points with five rebounds and two assists in a loss last week.
MONROE COUNTY II: Nicole Bini of Greece Athena. Bini, a 5-foot-7, freshman guard, had 57 points in three wins last week as Athena improved to 11-1.
MONROE COUNTY III: Carly Napier of Pittsford Mendon. Napier, a 5-foot-10 senior guard scored her 1000th career point last week while scoring 19 points, grabbing six rebounds, collecting four assists and making four steals in a win over Victor.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Kelly Legg of Aquinas. Legg, a 6-foot-1, junior forward, had 21 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks a win over Bishop Kearney and 12 rebounds and four blocks in a win over Victor.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Bidgette Sutryk of Addison. Sutryk, a 5-foot-5 sophomore guard, sparked her team by hitting three consecutive three-pointers in a 67-63 win over Canisteo-Greenwood. NINTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY I: Greg Wright of Houghton Academy. A 6-foot-1 senior forward, Wright scored eight points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out seven assists while holding the opposing team’s leading scorer to one field goal in a 55-40 win over Fillmore. Then he followed that up with 18 points and five rebounds in a 54-46 win over Andover.
CITY CATHOLIC: Vincent Jones of Monroe. Jones, a 6-foot-2, senior guard, scored 15, 17 and 25 points in three victories against Pittsford-Mendon, Honeoye Falls-Lima and Charlotte.
FINGER LAKES EAST: Nick Carlson and Matt McCarthy of Canandaigua. Carlson a 6-foot-4 senior forward, scored nine points, grabbed 10 rebounds, recorded two steals as the Braves fell to undefeated league foe Newark. He also recorded 18 points, grabbed nine rebounds, went four of five from the three-point line to help lead the Braves over Midlakes.
McCarthy, a 6-foot-4 senior forward scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against the Geneva Panthers. Then he recorded another double-double scoring 18 points and grabbing a career-high 14 rebounds against the Waterloo Indians.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Jon Benjamin of Harley-Allendale Columbia. The Wolves’ 6-foot-1, senior guard, helped HAC beat DeSales 75-46 by scoring 18 points, grabbing six rebounds and handing out six assists. In a 60-59 win over Honeoye, he had 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
GENESEE I: David Garnish of Byron-Bergen. Garnish, a 6-foot-6 senior forward, averaged 9.5 rebounds, 7.5 points and two blocks in his teams games last week.
GENESEE II: Kevin Schildwaster of Batavia Notre dame. Schildwaster, a 6-foot, senior guard, excelled as a defender and rebounder while playing as steady floor game as the Irish won two of three. He had a season-high 13 points against Prattsburg.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Dan Banach of Avon. Banach, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, had 26 points, five rebounds, five steals and 10 assists in two wins over Keshequa and Caledonia-Mumford.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Brennan Campbell of Perry. Campbell, a 5-foot-7, sophomore guard, had 22 points and three steals against Mt. Morris and 16 points and four assists against Pavilion.
MONROE COUNTY I: Phil Mormon of Fairport. Mormon, a 6-foot-5 senior guard/forward, hit the go-ahead three-pointer with 11 seconds left in overtime to lift Fairport to a win over Gates-Chili.
MONROE COUNTY II: Ryan Klimek of Greece Arcadia. Klimek, a 6-foot-3 senior guard, scored 11 points, including the game-winning three pointer, in a win over Webster Thomas. He also scored 18 points in a win over Churchville-Chili.
MONROE COUNTY III: Robert Brooks of Brighton. A 6-foot-1, senior guard, Brooks scored 22 points in a win over School of the Arts and seven points in a win over Eastridge.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Patrick Wightman of Prattsburgh. A 6-foot-1 junior guard, Wightman scored 61 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, had 17 assists and made seven steals in wins over Jasper-Troupsburg, Hammonsport and Batavia Notre Dame. He was 14 for 14 from the free throw line and nine for 16 from three-point range.
WAYNE COUNTY: Alex Smith of Gananda. A 6-foot-1 senior forward, Smith had 10 points in a win over East Rochester and 15 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Sodus.
NINTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY: Emily Brubaker of Whitesville. A 5-foot-7, freshman wing, Brubaker scored 39 points over three games including a 24-point performance against Andover in the Andover Booster’s Tournament. She was selected to the All-Tournament team.

FINGER LAKES WEST: Hally Iverson of Naples. A 5-foot-6 senior guard and captain, Iverson had a double double with 22 points and 12 rebounds against Romulus.
GENESEE I: Rachel Pettys of Alexander. A senior forward, Pettys had a solid well-rounded week. She scored 18 points, grabbed 24 rebounds, made eight assists, had 12 steals and completed six blocked shots in her team’s victory over Lyndonville and a loss to Elba.
GENESEE II: Meghan Fahy of Kendall. A senior forward, Fahy scored 41 points and had 12 rebounds in two games last week. In her team’s one-point loss to Oakfield-Alabama, she went 11 for 12 from the free throw line..
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Jackie Minnehan of Livonia and Margi Infantino of Dansville. Minnehan, a junior forward, finished with eight points and 12 rebounds in a win over Jefferson; 18 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and 6/9 from the foul line in a win over Hornell; and four points, five rebounds and three steals in a loss to Honeoye falls-Lima.
Infantino, a 5-foot-10 senior guard/forward, had 24 points, eight rebounds and four steals against Wellsville. She also had 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists against Wayland-Cohocton.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Lindsay Schwab of Avon and Samantha Smithgall of Perry. Schwab, a senior guard, had 17 points, 10 rebounds, eight assist, three steals and two blocked shots in a 63-48 victory over Pembroke; nine points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and one blocked shot in a 49-27 win over Warsaw; and 15 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals in a 51-30 win over Pavilion.
Smithgall, a 5-foot-9 senior guard/forward, scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a win over Pavilion.
MONROE COUNTY I: Allison DiMagno of Fairport. DiMagno, a 5-foot-11 junior forward, scored 50 points, including the 1000th of her career and grabbed 18 rebounds in two wins last week.
MONROE COUNTY II: Jess Sexton of Greece Arcadia. Sexton, a 6-foot, junior forward, had 19 points, eight rebounds and four steals in a win..
MONROE COUNTY III: Bridget Ryan of Pittsford Sutherland. Ryan, a 6-foot junior forward scored 49 points, including the 1000th of her career over three games last week.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Harley Cleary of Nazareth. Cleary, a sophomore guard, had a career high 19 points, four rebounds and two assists in a 55-43 victory over Aquinas.

FINGER LAKES EAST: Shane Sweeney of Midlakes. Sweeney, an eighth grader, scored 27 points in 19 minutes, shooting eight of 10 from the floor including seven of eight on three’s. He also had three rebounds, three steals and an assist in Midlakes 63-34 win over Bath.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Justin Schenck of Dundee. The Scotsmans’ 6-foot, senior forward, had a career night in his team’s 54-45 win over DeSales. He had 33 points converting 14 of 17 shots and making five of six from the free throw line. He also contributed 10 rebounds and two steals. The night was capped by his first career dunk.
GENESEE I: Andrew Wright of Pembroke. A 6-foot-2 senior guard/forward, Wright had 18 points, seven rebounds against Wheatland-Chili and 18 points, eight rebounds and two assists against Eden. Both were wins.
GENESEE II: Sonny Giuliano of Elba. Giuliano, a 6-foot-1, junior guard, had a triple double with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in a victory over Holley.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Tyler Fenti of Honeoye Falls-Lima. Fenti, a 6-foot-1, junior guard/forward, had 29 points (including five threes), 10 rebounds and three assists in a win over Geneva.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Jeremy Wilson of Caledonia-Mumford. Wilson, a 5-foot-10 senior guard, had 28 points, six rebounds and four steals in a win over Letchworth.
MONROE COUNTY I: Mandell Thomas of Rush-Henrietta. Thomas, a 6-foot sophomore guard scored 13 points in a win over CBA in the RAP Classic at East.
MONROE COUNTY II: Isaac Fraser of Brockport. Fraser, a 6-foot-3 senior forward, scored 15 points in a win over Churchville-Chili.
MONROE COUNTY III: Andrew Hoy of Batavia. A 5-foot-10, sophomore guard, Hoy scored 24 points in an overtime win over Pittsford Mendon and 26 points in a win over Penfield in the RAP Classic.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Zach Putnam and Tyler Patterson of Aquinas. A 6-foot-6, senior forward, Putnam scored 12 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against Wilson; scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and made six assists in a win over Palmyra-Macedon; and scored 15 points and had 11 rebounds in a win over Marshall.
Patterson, a senior guard, scored a game high 23 points against Wilson along with five assists. He also had eight points, five assists, five rebounds and six steals against Palmyra and 17 points and 10 rebounds against Marshall.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Patrick Wightman of Prattsburgh. A 6-foot-1 junior guard, Wightman scored 61 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, had 17 assists and made seven steals in wins over Jasper-Troupsburg, Hammonsport and Batavia Notre Dame. He was 14 for 14 from the free throw line and nine for 16 from three-point range.
WAYNE COUNTY: Jon Leeuwen of Marion. A 6-foot-4 senior guard/forward, Leeuwen had 35 points including five threes in a win over Lyons.
TENTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Susie Black of Fillmore. A 6-foot, senior forward, Black averaged 24.5 points, 15.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists including a triple-double to lead her team to two league victories.
ALLEGANY COUNTY II: Brooke Jackson of Andover. A 5-foot-9, senior forward, Jackson continued her strong play. Two weeks ago she averaged 18 points, eight rebounds and three steals over three games. Last week, she averaged 22 points, 12 rebounds and three assists in two victories.
FINGER LAKES EAST:. Rachael Roddenbery of Penn Yan. A sophomore forward, Roddenbery had 13 points and eight rebounds in a win over Mynderse and 14 points and eight rebounds in a win over Dundee.

GENESEE I: Lindsay Chatt of Oakfield-Alabama. A junior guard, Chatt scored a career-high 18 points and had four steals in Oakfield’s win over Lyndonville.
GENESEE II: Samantha D’Agostino of Kendall. A junior guard, D’Agostino scored 15 points and was three for five from beyond the arc against Attica. Then she scored 16 point including six of her team’s overtime points to insure a win against Byron-Bergen.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Jen Wilson of Livonia. Wilson, a senior guard and captain, finished with 16 points … including two three points and four for six from the foul line … four rebounds, two steals and two assists in a win over Jefferson.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Erin Cleveland of Pavilion. Cleveland, a freshman forward had a career high 19 points along with 14 rebounds and an assist in her team’s victory over Leroy.
MONROE COUNTY I: Sarah Tranelli of Penfield. Tranelli, a 5-foot-9 senior guard scored 15 points in a victory over Spencerport.
MONROE COUNTY II: Mercedez Koo of Greece Olympia Koo, a 5-foot-6, junior guard, had 42 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists over two games including six three point field goals.
MONROE COUNTY III: Casey Brett of Irondequoit. Brett, a 5-foot-5 junior guard scored 14 points, collected six steals, and four assists in a win.

Wright, a 5-foot-6 junior guard, had 31 points, four rebounds and six assists in two wins.
WAYNE COUNTY: Jessenia Andujar of East Rochester and Melissa Reeves of Gananda. Andujar, a senior guard/forward, surpassed 1000 points for her career last week and in the last six games has averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Reeves, a sophomore forward, had 16 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in a win over Lyons.

ALLEGANY I: Caleb Thomas of Fillmore; Tom Hennesey and Nick Biedakiewicz of Wellsville. Thomas, a 6-foot-2 senior forward, had 16 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Genesee Valley and followed that with a 13 point, seven rebound performance in a win over Belfast.
Hennesey, a 5-foot-9 senior guard had 19 and 21 points in wins over Wayand-Cohocton and Cuba-Rushford
Biedakiewicz, a 6-foot junior forward, had 17 points and 12 rebounds as well as 21 points in the wins over W-C and C-R.
ALLEGANY II: Dylan Lewis-Ellison of Whitesville. Lewis-Ellison, a 5-foot-10 point guard, had 26 points, six rebounds, seven assists and three steals against Belfast. Then he had 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals against Canasaaga.

FINGER LAKES EAST: Nick Carlson of Canandaigua. Carlson, a 6-foot-4 senior forward, led the Braves to two quality road victories last week. He scored 13 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and had two steals in a 43-30 victory at Palmyra-Macedon. Then he scored 20 points (16 in the second half) recorded nine rebounds and had two assists in a come-from behind victory over Mynderse.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Drew Bardun of Red Jacket. The Indians’ 6-foot-2, senior forward, led his team to wins over Honeoye and South Seneca. In those games, he scored 39 points, collected 13 rebounds, dished out 13 assists and blocked nine shots. This included going six for six from the free throw line in the last 40 seconds leading to the six-point win over South Seneca..
GENESEE I: Kyle Woodruff of Alexander and Tim Smith of Oakfield-Alabama. A 6-foot-2 senior forward, Woodruff averaged 15.5 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots as Alexander split two games.
A 6-foot-2 senior guard/forward, Smith scored 21 points, pulled down 14 rebounds, had eight assists and seven steals as O-A won twice.
GENESEE II: Kevin Francis of Notre Dame-Batavia. Francis, a 6-foot, senior guard, scored 20 points, had five rebounds, six assists and seven steals in a win over Lyndonville. He also had 27 points, six rebounds, six assists and nine steals in a win over Kendall as Notre Dame clinched the Genesee Division 2 title.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Bobby Schuster of Livonia. Schuster, a 6-foot-3, junior guard, had 23 points, four rebounds and four assists against Avon and 22 points and five assists against Dansville.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Jack Jeffries of Pavilion. Jeffries, a 6-foot-4 junior forward, had 25 points and nine rebounds in a win over Caledonia-Mumford and 14 points and eight rebounds in a win over Warsaw.
MONROE COUNTY I: Kevonte McCalin of Fairport. McCalin, a 6-foot-5 junior forward scored 16 points and collected 10 rebounds in a win over Penfield. Then he scored 10 points in a win over Spencerport and 17 points in a win over McQuaid.
MONROE COUNTY II: Eric Mays of Webster Thomas. Mays, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, scored 17 points in a win over Churchville-Chili and 21 points in a win over Greece Olympia.
MONROE COUNTY III: Dylan Sherwood of Pittsford Sutherland. Sherwood, a 6-foot-7 junior forward, scored 19 points in a win over Pittsford-Mendon, 18 points in a win over Monroe and 21 points in a win over Victor.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Manny Medeiros of Northstar. A 6-foot, junior forward, Medeiros scored a career-high 41 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in an 85-63 win over Webster Christian last week. He shot 15-22 from the floor, including nine for 10 from three-point range that tied a school record.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Ryan Caron of Prattsburgh. A 6-foot-1 senior forward, Caron had 25 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in a win over Alfred-Almond.
WAYNE COUNTY: Alex Smith of Gananda. A 6-foot-1 senior forward, Smith had 14 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Lyons and 15 points in a win over Williamson.

ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Kristen Moose of Canaseraga. A junior guard, Moose scored 43 points in a 72-62 win over Whitesville. In doing this she surpassed 1,000 points as a junior. She also had five steals, six rebounds and four assists in this game. In a win against Cuba-Rushford, she scored 25 points and made seven steals and four assists.
ALLEGANY COUNTY II: A.J. James of Fillmore. A 5-foot-10, junior forward, James helped her team go 3-0 last week, averaging 12 points including a career-high 18 against Genesee Valley.
FINGER LAKES EAST:. Ashley Zahn of Canandaigua and Kate Black of Waterloo. A junior guard, Zahn had 26 points and six assists in a win over Palmyra-Macedon and 23 points and six assists in a win over Mynderse.
A senior guard, Black had 26 points including four three’s in a win over Mynderse. She also had 12 points in a win over Penn Yan and 25 points including six threes in a loss to Wayne.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Sami Clingerman of Dundee. A 5-foot-6 junior guard, Clingerman scored 26 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and made six steals in a win over DeSales.
GENESEE I: Anna Dominick of Alexander. A 5-foot-6 junior guard, Dominick had 27 points, seven assists and eight steals in her team’s victories over Pembroke and Holley.
GENESEE II: Liz Geandreau of Notre Dame-Batavia. A 6-foot, sophomore forward, Geandreau averaged a double double (11 points and 10 rebounds) in her team’s victories over Pavilion, Lyndonville and Kendall.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Camaryn Buckner of Honeoye Falls-Lima. Buckner, a 6-foot, junior center scored 19 points and had 14 rebounds and five blocked shots in a 65-38 victory over Bath.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Kelly Jo Beck of York. Beck, a 5-foot-8 senior center had nine points and 10 rebounds in a win over Perry. She hit the shot to tie the game and send it into overtime and then hit two free throws in overtime to seal the win. She also had 12 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Letchworth.
MONROE COUNTY I: Angelica Simmons of Rush-Henrietta. Simmons, a 5-foot-5 senior guard scored 29 points in two wins in her first games after returning from a shoulder injury.
MONROE COUNTY II: Marissa Sell of Brockport. Sell, a sophomore forward, scored 41 points with 27 rebounds in two wins.
MONROE COUNTY III: Jenee Vanderstyne of Victor. Vanderstyne, a 5-foot-7, senior guard and captain scored 16 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and made four steals over two games last week..

ALLEGANY: Casey James of Scio. A 5-foot-11 senior guard, James had 20 points and 10 assists in a win over Andover. He followed that with 26 points and six assists in a win over Canaseraga.
CITY CATHOLIC: Nate Dukes of Freddie Thomas. Dukes, a 5-foot-9 point guard, scored 33 points and had four steals against Marshall reaching the 2,000-point mark in his career. He also scored 27 points along with four rebounds, five assists and three steals in a loss to Monroe.
FINGER LAKES EAST: James Willson of Penn Yan. Willson, a 6-foot-5 senior center, had 27 points and 14 rebounds in a overtime win over Midlakes. He also had 17 points and 13 rebounds in a win at Marcus Whitman.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Jon Benjamin of Harley Allendale-Columbia and Drew Bardun of Red Jacket. Benjamin, a 6-foot-1 senior guard, scored 66 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, made 11 steals and collected 17 steals in wins over Caledonia-Mumford, Dundee and Naples.
In three wins last week over DeSales and Romulus twice, Bardun amassed 66 points, 34 rebounds, 17 assists and eight steals helping Red Jacket clinch a tie for the Finger Lakes West title and the first place seed in the C2 sectional classification.
GENESEE I: Tyler Sass of Byron-Bergen. A 5-foot-11 senior guard Sass lead his team over three games by averaging 16.3 points per game. He also averaged 5.7 rebounds and three assists per game.
GENESEE II: Andy Lund of Wheatland-Chili. Lund a 6-foot-4, sophomore forward, had 18 points and eight boards in a win over Lyndonville and 11 points with 9 rebounds in a road loss to Kendall.

MONROE COUNTY II: R.J Kalb of Greece Athena. Kalb, a 6-foot-6 senior forward/center, scored 15 points and collected 14 rebounds in a tight win over cross-town rival Greece Arcadia. Kalb has averaged a double-double for the season..
MONROE COUNTY III: Marcus Hoy of Batavia. Hoy, a 5-foot-10 senior guard, scored nine points, collected 15 assists, and made five steals in a win against Lackawanna.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Tyler Patterson of Aquinas and Donald Harris of Northstar Christian. A 6-foot, senior guard, Patterson led Aquinas to three wins last week, scoring 19 points and getting five steals against St. Francis; scoring 18 points, grabbing seven rebounds and making six steals against Hornell; and scoring 15 points to go along with six assists and five steals against Monroe.
Harris, a 5-foot-8 sophomore guard, had 22 points, four steals and seven assists against Greece Odyssey and 10 points, 16 rebounds, and 12 assists … his first triple double … against West Seneca.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Nick Digati of Prattsburgh and Nick Smith of Arkport. A 5-foot-7 senior guard, Digati came off the bench to score 20 points with five three’s sparking the Vikings to Steuben County Tournament wins against Canisteo-Greenwood and Alfred-Almond.
Smith, a 6-foot-2 junior forward, scored 31 points in the Steuben County Tournament Semi Final game against Campbell-Savona.
WAYNE COUNTY: Darryl Bowman of Sodus. A 5-foot-10 senior guard, Bowman had 16 points, five assists and three rebounds in a win over Williamson.
TWELVETH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY COUNTY: Nichole Meehan of Whitesville and Brianna Perkins of Bolivar-Richburg. A sophomore post player, Meehan averaged 24 points, 16 rebounds, two blocks two assists and one steal over two league games last week. She also reached 1,000 points in less than three years of varsity play.
Perkins, a 5-foot-3 junior guard, scored 22 points, grabbed five rebounds and made four steals in a win over Canaseraga and had 14 points and six rebounds in a win over Houghton Academy.
FINGER LAKES EAST:. Shakista Woolfolk of Newark. A senior forward/guard, Woolfolk had 18 points and eight rebounds against Palmyra-Macedon as well as 23 point and 14 rebounds against Geneva.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Jahna Humphrey of Harley-Allendale Columbia. A sophomore guard/forward, Humphrey had 29 points and 19 rebounds last week.
GENESEE I: Anni Lehtola of Alexander. A 5-foot-9 senior guard/forward, Lehtola is a foreign exchange student from Finland. She had 35 points, 21 rebounds, and six assists in victories over Attica and Byron-Bergen.
GENESEE II: Cassy Engle of Elba. A 5-foot-5, junior guard, Engle scored 23 points in her team’s victories over Notre Dame and Lyndonville. She made several key free throws in the fourth quarter of both games as Elba went undefeated in the Genesee Region.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Jessica Petruchik of Honeoye Falls-Lima. Petruchik a 5-foot-10, senior forward/guard is a repeat winner of this award. She scored 17 points and had 11 rebounds, five assists and five steals in a 53-41 victory over Wayland-Cohocton.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Sara Graves of York Graves, a 5-foot-7 senior forward had 10 points and five rebounds agains Letchworth and 11 points and six rebounds against Pavilion. Both were wins for York.
MONROE COUNTY I: Gabby D’Ercole of Penfield. D’Ercole, a 5-foot-5 senior guard, had 30 points in two wins including four for four from the foul line in the last minute of one win.
MONROE COUNTY II: Shy Britton of Greece Arcadia. Britton, a junior forward, had 10 points and 10 rebounds including her 1,000th career point in a win against Greece Athena.
MONROE COUNTY III: Emily Piacentini of Eastridge. Placentini, a 5-foot-3, eighth grade guard scored 57 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and made five steals in three games last week.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Donna Barrington of Bishop Kearney and Emma Rene of North Star Christian. Barrington, a 5-foot-9, junior guard/forward had 34 points, 28 rebounds and 16 steals in victories over Kendall, C.G. Finney and North Rose-Wolcott last week.
Rene, a senior forward, hit eight three pointers (a school record and unconfirmed Section V record) while scoring 24 of her team’s 27 points in a loss to Greece Odyssey.
ROCHESTER LEAGUE: Shakatta Brown of School of the Arts and Faith Turnbore of Marshall. A 5-foot-9 senior guard, Brown, had 25 points, five assists and five steals in a win over Victor.
Turnbore, a 5-foot-8 senior guard, had 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals in a win over Jefferson.
STEUBEN COUNTY: No Nominations.
WAYNE COUNTY: Leah Iannello of Marion. Senior guard Iannello’s intense defense kept two 20-point scorers to six points each in Marion’s two games last week.

THIRTEENTH BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
ALLEGANY I: Jimmy Estruch of Houghton; Anthony Poole of Bolivar-Richburg; and Jay Ronan of Fillmore. A 6-foot junior guard, Estruch had 20 points and six rebounds in a win over Canaseraga. Then he followed that up with 30 points and four rebounds in a close loss to Notre Dame.
Poole, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, had 12 points and five assists in a two-point loss to Andover. Then he had 28 points, and five assists in a season-ending win over Keshequa.
Roman, a 6-foot senior forward, turned in 17 and 23 point performances as well as team-leading rebound efforts in Fillmore’s wins over Keshequa and Cuba-Rushford..
ALLEGANY II: Dylan Lewis-Ellison and Brad Stevens of Whitesville. A 6-foot junior guard, Lewis-Ellison had 23 points … including five-for-six from the foul line and the game-winning shot as time expired … as Whitesville defeated Andover for the County D-2 Championship.
Stevens, a 5-foot-1 senior guard, had 23 points … including seven-for-10 from the foul line. He and Lewis-Ellison combined for eight steals.
CITY CATHOLIC: No Nominations.
FINGER LAKES EAST: No Nominations.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Ben Maher of DeSales. Maher, a 6-foot junior guard, scored 27 points in the Saints’ 57-56 victory over Honeoye in the regular season final for both schools.
GENESEE: No Nominations.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Bobby Schuster of Livonia. Schuster, a 6-foot-3, junior guard, had 16 points, four rebounds and four assists in a win over Wayland-Cohocton.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Dave Fox of Caledonia-Mumford. Fox, a 6-foot-1, senior guard, had 16 points and four rebounds against York as well as 22 points ,,, including six threes … and eight rebounds against Mt. Morris.
MONROE COUNTY I: Mandell Thomas of Rush-Henrietta. Thomas, a 6-foot sophomore guard scored a career high 28 points … including four three-pointers in the first half… to boast his team and win the Monroe county Tournament Bracket 1 Championship.
MONROE COUNTY II: Quentin McGee of Churchville. McGee, a 6-foot-2 senior forward, scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Churchville to victory over Spencerport.
MONROE COUNTY III: James Graham of Brighton and Troy Sant of Pittsford Mendon. Graham, a 6-foot senior forward, scored 11 points against Churchville and 13 points against Brockport … including the game winning free throws … to boost Brighton to the championship of the Monroe County Tournament Bracket 5.
Sant, a 5-foot-11 senior guard, scored 12 points against Greece Arcadia and 14 points against Penfield to boost Mendon to the championship of the Monroe County Tournament Bracket 3.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Tyler Patterson of Aquinas. A 6-foot, senior guard, Patterson repeats as player of the week. He had 19 points, five rebounds and five steals in a loss to Charlotte.
STEUBEN COUNTY: Adam Matula of Campbell-Savona and Josh Sanford of Prattsburgh. A 5-foot-11 senior guard, Matula scored 27 points in C-S’s 57-54 loss to Prattsburgh in the Steuben County Tournament Championship Game.
Sanford, a 5-foot-8 junior guard, hit the game winning three-pointer at the buzzer to beat C-S in the Steuben County Tournament Championship Game.
WAYNE COUNTY: Brad Lefever of Marion. A 6-foot-4, sophomore center, Lefever had 24 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Red Creek as well as 12 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Gananda.

GENESEE I: Katie Kochmanski of Alexander. A 5-foot-9, senior forward, Kochmanski averaged a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds in victories over Oakfield and Red Creek.
GENESEE II: Samantha Skyrp of Lyndonville. A 5-foot-9, sophomore forward, Skyrp had 18 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks in her team’s sectional victory over Red Jacket. She also hit the game-winning shot.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Ali Roberts of Hornell. Roberts, a 5-foot-10, freshman forward had 28 points and 12 rebounds … including eight of the 15 points her team scored in overtime … in a win over Bath-Haverling.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Amie Brooks of Pavilion. Brooks, a 5-foot-6, junior forward had 20 points … with two three pointers and four for five from the foul line … along with 8 steals, six rebounds and an assist in a loss to Avon. Then she had 29 points with six three pointers and seven for eight at the foul line along with seven rebounds, six assists, seven steals and a blocked shot as #10 Pavilion beat #7 East Rochester 54-47 in a sectional first round game.
MONROE COUNTY I: Bernadette Davis of Rush-Henrietta. Davis, a 5-foot-10 senior forward, had 17 points and six rebounds in a key win over Fairport.
MONROE COUNTY II: Maire Dunning of Churchville-Chili. Dunning, a 5-foot-8 sophomore forward, scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in an opening round Class AAA sectional game at Spencerport.
MONROE COUNTY III: Kaelyn Gibson of Pittsford-Mendon. Gibson, a 6-foot, senior forward/center scored her 1,000th career point in a win over Penfield in the Monroe County Championship game.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Greta Buerman of Mercy. Buerman, a 5-foot-11, junior guard/forward averaged 15 points, 10.5 rebounds and two steals in mercy’s wins over Rush-Henrietta and Nazareth.
ROCHESTER LEAGUE: No Nominations.
STEUBEN COUNTY: No Nominations.
