"Player of the Week"

THE BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK FOR BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS GETS UNDERWAY TODAY AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH FEBRUARY.
The selection of Basketball Players of the Week for both boys and girls in Section V gets under way today and will continue through February. The program will be sponsored for the third year by Birds Eye Foods whose headquarters are based in Rochester. The selection of the players each week will be made by coaches, former coaches, and athletic directors in association with active coaches who offer their counsel. Players who are chosen receive certificates suitable for framing.

FIRST BIRDS EYE FOODS SECTION V BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*

ALLEGANY: Tyler Mastin of Houghton Academy… Mastin, a 6-foot-4 senior center, had 18 points and seven rebounds in a season opening win over Friendship. He followed that up with a 15 point, 13 rebound performance against GOW School.

FINGER LAKES EAST: Sean Sweeney of Geneva … Sweeney, a 5-foot-10 senior guard, Lead his team to victories over South Seneca and Waterloo. He had 16 points and 11 assists in the first game and 21 points in the 57-53 overtime win over Waterloo.
FINGER LAKES WEST: Trevor Sanders of Red Jacket and Garrick Conyers of Dundee … A 6-foot-3 junior guard/forward, Sanders had 26 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks in the semifinals of the DeSales Tip-Off Tournament. This included scoring all seven of R.J.’s points in overtime and hitting both ends of a 1+1 with eight seconds left to win the game over Webster Christian. In the finals against DeSales he had 27 points, five assists and three rebounds to lead R.J. to a 73-46 championship win.
Conyers, a 6-foot-3 junior forward, led the Scots to the championship of the Dundee Sports Boosters Tip-Off Tournament. In a 52-48 victory over Marcus Whitman, he had 19 points, six rebounds, five steals and a blocked shot. In the championship tilt against Lima Christian, he earned tournament MVP honors with a double-double … 17 points and 10 rebounds.
GENESEE I: A. J. Kehlenbeck of Oakfield-Alabama … Kehlenbeck, a 6-foot-2 senior forward, scored 22 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, blocked seven shots and collected four assists in an opening night win over Lyndonville
GENESEE II: Vinny Zambito of Notre Dame-Batavia … Zambito, a 6-foot senior guard, had 20 points, seven assists four steal and five rebounds in Notre Dame’s win over Alexander.
LIVINGSTON I: Bobby Schuster of Livonia … Schuster, a 6-foot-4 senior guard, had 21 points and seven rebounds in a loss at the buzzer to Greece Odyssey Then he had 20 points and seven rebounds in a win over Leroy.
LIVINGSTON II: Chris Costello of Letchworth … Costello, a 6-foot-1 senior guard, had nine points, four rebounds and three steals in a win over Alexander and 16 points, three rebounds and three assists in a win over Bath.
MONROE I: Brad Williams of Rush-Henrietta … Williams a 6-foot-2 junior guard/forward, scored 22 points and collected 13 rebounds over Utica Proctor in the Henninger Showcase to help start R-H 1-0 on the season.
MONROE II: Casey Sheehan and John Wallace of Greece Athena … Sheehan, a 5-foot-10” senior guard, scored 20 points and collected nine assists in a win over Webster Schroeder, 22 points in a win over Greece Olympia and 25 points in a win over Penfield
Wallace, a 6-foot junior guard, scored 15 points in the win over Schroeder, 24 points against Olympia and 18 points over Penfield. Sheehan and Wallace were named co-MVPs of the Greece Arcadia Tournament.
MONROE III: Tyler Books of Victor … Brooks, a 5-foot-10 junior guard, scored 28 points, including three three-pointers, in a win over Aquinas to boost Victor to a 2-0 start on the season.
PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Trevor Maiorano of Lima Christian … Maiorano, 5-foot-11 senior guard, had 27 points with eight threes against Romulus and 14 points with three threes in a loss to Dundee. He was named to the All-Tournament Team.
STEUBEN: Patrick Wightman of Prattsburgh … Wightman, a senior guard, scored 26 points , grabbed seven rebounds and had three assists in a 73-45 win over Webster Christian.
WAYNE: Brad LeFevre of Marion … A 6-foot-4 junior forward, LeFevre had 13 points and seven rebounds in a close win over Lyons and 24 points and 15 rebounds in a win over Bloomfield.

FIRST BIRDS EYE FOODS SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*

ALLEGANY COUNTY I: A. J. James of Fillmore … A senior center James recorded a career high 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lift Fillmore to a win in its season opener at Cuba-Rushford.
ALLEGANY COUNTY II: Bethany Conklin of Houghton Academy … A junior forward, Conklin had a total of 22 points, 20 rebounds, two blocks six steals and three assists in two games last week.
ALLEGANY COUNTY III: Brittany Mesier of Wellsville … A freshman forward,/guard Mesier had 23 points, nine rebounds and three steals in a 60-59 loss to Allegany-Limestone. 18 of her points came in the second half when Wellsville erased a 16-point deficit.
FINGER LAKES EAST: Rachael Roddenbery of Penn Yan … A junior forward Roddenbery scored 20 points and haad 13 rebounds against Dundee.
FINGER LAKES WEST I: Stephanie Farnsworth of South Seneca … A senior forward, Farnsworth had 13 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots in an opening game loss to Geneva and 19 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Finney.
FINGER LAKES WEST II: Heidi Hommel of Honeoye and Sarah Hart of Bloomfield … A senior forward/guard, Hommel had 37 Points and 13 rebounds and two steals over two games in a win and a loss to open the season.
A senior forward and captain, Hart had 50 points, 11 rebounds, 10 steals in two games at the Bloomfield tournament.
GENESEE COUNTY I: Brynne Perfitt of Oakfield-Alabama … Perfitt, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Geneseo Tip Off Tournament. She averaged 18.5 points, 11 rebounds and four assists over the two games of the tournament.
GENESEE COUNTY II: Cassy Engle of Elba … Engle, a 5-foot-5 senior guard, was named MVP of the Elba Tip-Off Tournament. She scored 16 points in an opening win over Pembroke and had 20 points in the championship game win over Albion. She shot 60% from the field for the entire tournament.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Emilea Harrison of Dansville … Harrison, a 5-foot-7 junior guard, led Dansville to the Geneseo Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament championship with 37 points, 11 assists, 21 rebounds and six steals in wins over Oakfield-Alabama and Hornell. She was named MVP.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Amie Brooks of Pavilion… Brooks, a 5-foot-6 senior guard, had 22 points, including three three-pointers, and six steals in Pavilion’s 49-43 win over Perry. Then she had 26 points, including five three-pointers, five assists and six steals in a 60-47 win over York.
MONROE COUNTY I: Laura McNamara of Penfield and Hanna Kmiecinski of Webster Thomas … McNamara, a junior forward/guard, averaged 14 points and eight rebounds over two games and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Palmyra-Macedon Tournament.
Kmiecinski, a senior captain forward/guard, scored 15 points, grabbed four rebounds and made six steals in a win over Greece Olympia.
MONROE COUNTY II: Shy Britton of Greece Arcadia … Britton, a senior captain center, was named MVP of the Arcadia Tournament. She had 55 points, 18 rebounds, and eight assists over the two games.
MONROE COUNTY III: Kayli O’Keefe of Pittsford Sutherland … O’Keefe, a freshman guard, was named MVP of the Katie Sweeting Tournament. She hit the game winning shot in the championship game and ended the tournament with 32 points including eight three’s.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Amber Corbitt of Bradford and Brittany Geffers of Avoca … Corbitt, a 5-foot-8 junior forward and captain, had 18 points, 25 rebounds, six blocked shots and a steal and was named to the All-Tournament Team in the Bradford Tip-Off Classic.
A 5-foot-5 senior guard/forward, Geffers scored 21 points and grabbed 20 rebounds over two games in the Bradford Tip-Off Tournament and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
WAYNE COUNTY: Shannon McGinnis of Gananda and Tempestt Black of North Rose-Wolcott. McGinnis, a junior forward, averaged 20 points and 15 rebounds during two wins last week.
A senior guard, Black averaged 26 points, eight rebounds and six steals in two wins last week.

He had 20 points and five steals against Fairport; 20 points, six rebounds five steals and six assists against Charlotte; and 29 points, 11 steals, six assists and five rebounds against Jefferson.

FINGER LAKES EAST: Steve Palmer of Wayne … Palmer, a 6-foot-3 senior guard/forwad and captain, scored 23 points in a 64-60 win at Waterloo and had a career high 27 points (seven-for-eight from three-point range) in a 74-40 win against Whitman.

GENESEE I: Chad Barhydt of Holley … Barhydt, a 6-foot-2 junior center, had eight points and five rebounds in a win over Pembroke and followed that with 15 points (including all five points in overtime) and 10 rebounds in a win over Alexander.

MONROE COUNTY I: Chris Thompkins of Webster Schroeder … Thompkins, a 6-foot-1 senior forward, scored eight points and collected five rebounds in a win over Buffalo Burgard; scored nine points in a win over Buffalo Bennett; and scored 14 points and collected five rebounds, four assists and three steals in a win over Hilton.

MONROE COUNTY II: Marcus Blythers of Churchville-Chili …Blythers, a 6-foot-3 junior forward, scored 19 points and collected six rebounds and five blocks against Batavia; and scored 19 points and collected 19 rebounds and six blocks in a win over Brighton.

MONROE COUNTY III: Dylan Sherwood of Pittsford Sutherland … Sherwood, a 6-foot-7 senior forward, scored 16 points in a win over Brighton and scored 22 points and collected 17 rebounds and seven blocks in a win over Honeoye Falls-Lima.

MONROE COUNTY II: Kelly Carolan of Webster Schroeder … Carolan, a senior guard scored 24 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and had nine assists in two Schroeder wins.

Week 3 - Week of: December 10 to December 17, 2009

THIRD BIRDS EYE FOODS SECTION V BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*

ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Matt Dean of Fillmore … Dean, a 6-foot-2 junior forward, scored 20 points, had 13 rebounds and four assists to lead his team to a 30+ point win over Bolivar-Richburg. This followed a 33-point effort in his opening game the week before.

ALLEGANY COUNTY II: Greg Starks of Andover … Starks, a 6-foot-5 senior center, had three solid games with 17, 17, and 15 points in wins over Canaseraga, Belfast and Friendship. He also contributed 20+ rebounds o those three winning efforts.

ALLEGANY COUNTY INDEPENDENT: Nick Biedakiewicz of Wellsville … Biedakiewicz, a 6-foot senior forward, had 13 points and seven rebounds to lead his team over Wayland-Cohocton. Then he scored 34 points and had eight rebounds as his team defeated Genesee Valley.

FINGER LAKES EAST: Javon McCrea of Newark … McCrea, a senior center scored 19 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked three shots in a win over Palmyra-Macedon. Then he scored 21 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked four shots in a win over Geneva.

FINGER LAKES WEST: David Lynch of Mynderse and Tyler Hixson of Red Jacket … Lynch, a 6-foot-2 junior forward, had 24 points against Romulus in Mynderse’s 90-58 win. Then he had 33 poiints, 10 rebounds and five steals against South Seneca in Mynderse’ 90-75 win.
Hixson, a 6-foot-3 junior forward, tallied 43 points, 21 rebounds, eight blocked shots, six steals and six assists over two games last week. This included a career high 33 points in a 66-62 win over Honeoye.

GENESEE COUNTY I: Tate Westermeier of Attica … Westermeier, a 6-foot senior guard, scored 11 points in a 68-40 win over Byron-Bergen and he scored 25 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and had five steals in a 42-36 win over Alexander.

GENESEE COUNTY II: Gianni Zambito of Notre Dame-Batavia … Zambito, a 6-foot senior guard, scored 18 points, latched onto six rebounds and had five assists in a win over Prattsburg.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Jordan Vandunk of Dansville and Garrett Kesel of Avon … Vandunk, a senior forward, had 16 points and 14 rebounds in a win over LeRoy.
Kesel, a senior guard, totaled 37 points, 19 rebounds and six steals in victories over Pavilion and Letchworth.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Thomas Stein of Caledonia-Mumford and Jim Estruch of Perry… Stein, a 6-foot-4 senior forward/center, had 16 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks in a win over York.
Estruch, a senior forward, had 22 points, six rebounds and two steals in a win over Caledonia-Mumford and 17 points and seven rebounds in a win over Geneseo.

MONROE COUNTY I: Rmani Crawford of Webster Thomas … Crawford, a 5-foot-11 senior guard, scored 18 points against Rush-Henrietta and 24 points in a win over Fairport.

MONROE COUNTY II: Rob Echols of Greece Arcadia …Echols, a 6-foot-2 junior forward, scored 15 points in a win over Gates-Chili and nine points in a win over Spencerport.

MONROE COUNTY III: Jason Snook of Greece Odyssey … Snook, a 6-foot senior guard, scored 10 points in a win over Eastridge and 29 points in a win over Northstar.

WAYNE COUNTY: Harley Robertson of Clyde-Savannah … Robertson, a 5-foot-11 senior forward, had 14 points and eight rebounds in a win over Williamson and 15 points and nine rebounds in a win over Sodus.

THIRD BIRDS EYE FOODS SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*

ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Stephany Ellison of Whitesville and Kelsea Updyke of Bolivar-Richburg … A junior forward/guard Ellison averaged 15 points, three assists, four steal and five rebounds and only one turnover over three games. She needs only eight more points to accomplish 1,000 career points as a junior.

A senior forward Updyke had nine points, seven rebounds and two steals in the first round of the BRCS Christmas Tournament. She earned the MVP award for the tournament scoring 13 points in the championship game.

GENESEE COUNTY I: Lindsay Chatt of Oakfield-Alabama … A senior guard Chatt averaged nine points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and played outstanding defense in two wins.

GENESEE COUNTY II: Samantha Skryp of Lyndonville … A senior forward Skryp scored 17 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and had 10 blocks in a win over Wheatland-Chili

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Taryn VanThof of Livonia … A senior guard VanThof finished with 11 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 46-43 overtime win over Wayland-Cohocton.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Morgan Howe of Keshequa … A junior center Howe had 37 points, 23 rebounds and seven steals in victories over LeRoy and York.

MONROE COUNTY I: Allyson DiMagno of Fairport … DiMagno, a senior forward/guard and captain scored 71 points and grabbed 31 rebounds in two wins last week.

MONROE COUNTY II: Nicole Lawson of Churchville-Chili … Lawson, a sophomore forward and captain, scored 62 points, grabbed 43 rebounds and made 21 steals in three victories for the Saints.

MONROE COUNTY III: Leanna Brooks of Brighton … Brooks, a junior forward, recorded a double/double with 15 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Victor.

PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Kelly Legg of Aquinas and Julia Crilly of Nazareth … Legg, a senior center/forward, scored 32 points in a 69-41 win over Bishop Kearney.
Crilly, a junior guard, scored a career high 22 pints, added 13 rebounds, four assists and five steals in a league win over Bishop Kearney..

ROCHESTER LEAGUE: Aaliyah Dunbar of East and Shaniece Brown of School of he Arts … Dunbar, a 5-foot-4 sophomore point scored 28, 13, and 10 points over two wins and one loss. She also had 14 rebounds and 18 assists over those games.

In SOTA’s victories over Wilson and Edison, the 5-foot-4 Brown scored 40 points to go along with 11 assists, 15 rebounds and nine steals. She is averaging 16 points, 3.8 assists, 5.8 rebounds and five steals a game.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Brittany Hadley of Jasper-Troupsburg … Hadley, a junior guard/forward, led J-T to two more wins last week scoring 30 points, grabbing 15 rebounds and making 12 steals. She is averaging 17 points a game and is 15-for-15 from the foul line in the last three games.

WAYNE COUNTY: Olivia Suhr of Marion … Suhr, a junior center, averaged 19 points, six rebounds, and four steals over three games last week.

FOURTH BIRDS EYE FOODS SECTION V BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*

ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Dylan Matijas of Cuba-Rushford and Kailob Biehler of Fillmore … Matijas, a 6-foot senior guard, had eight threes on 8-13 shooting on the way to 32 points in his team’s win over Campbell-Savona. He also had 11 rebounds and three steals. He followed that up with nine points, 10 rebounds and only one turnover in his team’s loss to Wellsville.
Biehler, a 5-foot-9 senior center, had 26 points including 8-12 from three point range as Fillmore defeated Andover to go to 5-0.

ALLEGANY COUNTY: Caleb Young of Cuba-Rushford … Young, a 5-foot-10 senior guard, was named MVP of the Houghton Counselor’s Classic last week as he led C-R to the championship. He scored 14 points and had three assists, three rebounds and three steals in a 51-38 overtime win over Fillmore. Then he followed that up with 11 points, five rebounds and six assists in a 52-40 win over Bolivar-Richburg. He also did an outstanding job of defense throughout.

CITY CATHOLIC: Devon Davis of Franklin … Davis, a 5-foot-8 junior guard, scored 22 points, while gathering four rebounds, three assists and three steals in a win over Marshall; scored 23 points while gathering six steals and four rebounds in a win over East; and scored 27 points while gathering five steals in a win over Dr. Freddie Thomas.

GENESEE COUNTY II: Evan Price of Wheatland-Chili … Price, a 5-foot-6 senior guard scored a career high 35 points including 21 in the first half in an opening round win over Bryon--Bergen in the B-B Boosters Tournament. He had four three pointers in that game. He then had 11 points in a championship game loss to Greece Odyssey.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Eric Hann of York … Hann, a 6-foot-4 senior forward, had 20 points and 18 rebounds in a win over Oakfield-Alabama in the Cal-Mum Tournament and 16 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in a championship win over Caledonia-Mumford.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Brett Sutryk of Bath … Sutryk, a 6-foot-2 senior guard, had 18 points, five rebounds, three assists and five steals in a win over Waverly (PA) and 12 points, five rebounds, and six steals against Cambell-Savona.

MONROE COUNTY I: Dan Brady of Irondequoit … Brady, a 6-foot-3 senior guard, scored 20 points in a win over Dr. Freddie Thomas and 14 points in a win over Pittsford Sutherland to earn MVP honors at the Tom Batzold Classic.

MONROE COUNTY II: Marcus McGill of Gates-Chili … McGill, a 6-foot sophomore guard, scored the winning basket and made a key block in a win over Franklin. He finished the game with 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists as Gates won the Mike Dianetti Tournament at Aquinas.

MONROE COUNTY III: Bob Blodgett of Honeoye Falls-Lima … Blodgett, a 6-foot-6 junior center, scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds in a 53-43 win over Hornell and scored 18 points and had 11 rebounds I a 47-40 win over Livonia.

PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Donald Harris of Northstar … Harris, a 5-foot-8 senior guard, had seven points, five steals and six assists in a 64-46 win over Genesee Valley and 32 points and five steals in a 57-50 win over Keshequa in the championship game of the Keshequa Christmas Tournament. He was named Tournament MPV.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Will Duncan of Hammondsport and Zach Sutton of Cambell-Savona … Duncan, a 6-foot-3 senior forward, had 13 points and 18 rebounds in a loss to Arkport and 24 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Mt. Morris.
Sutton, a 6-foot senior forward, had 40 points and 14 rebound and six steals to lead C-S to wins over Class B Bath and Class A Corning and the championship of the Campbell-Savona Tournament.

WAYNE COUNTY: Don Stevenson of Red Creek … Stevenson, a 6-foot-4 senior center, scored 10 points and had five rebounds and two blocks against Dundee.

ALLEGANY COUNTY: Brianna Perkins of Bolivar-Richburg and Stephany Ellison of Whitesville … A senior guard Perkins was named MVP of the Allegany County Counselors Christmas Tournament at Houghton College. She scored 12 points in a first round win over Whitesville and 16 points in the championship game against Fillmore. She also had six assists, 10 rebounds and three steals in the two games.
A junior forward/guard Ellison joined the 1,000-point plus club in just 2 ½ years of varsity experience. She averaged 17 points, eight assists, two steals and three blocks over two games last week.

GENESEE COUNTY I: Chelsea Turcer of Alexander … A junior guard Turcer had 21 points, 18 rebounds, nine steals and seven assists in two games at the Attica Tournament.

GENESEE COUNTY II: Nichole Hart of Notre Dame Batavia … A senior guard Hart was selected as Tournament MVP of the Byron-Bergen Booster Tournament by averaging 20 points per game over the two games of the tournament.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Rachel Meyer of Wayland-Cohocton … A senior forward Meyer averaged 14 points and seven rebounds a game in the Lions Club Holiday Tournament. Her team defeated Bloomfield and then in the disappointing overtime loss to Nazareth, Meyer hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to lead her team into overtime. She was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Cortney Chamberlain of Perry … A senior center and twin sister to last week’s winner Casey, Chamberlain scored a career high 29 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a win over Bloomfield in the Wayland-Cohocton Tournament.

MONROE COUNTY I: Ashley Zahn of Canandaigua … Zahn, a senior guard and captain, scored 67 points over three games at the KSA Holiday Classic in Disney World. This included the 2,000th point of her career. She is currently 16th in points in Section V history.

MONROE COUNTY II: Cierra Dillard of Gates-Chili … Dillard, an eighth grade guard, was named MVP of the Gates-Chili Holiday Tournament. She averaged 17 points a game including 25 in the final championship game. She also averaged eight rebounds and eight steals over the two games.

MONROE COUNTY III: Brittany Wormley of Batavia … Wormley, a senior guard and captain, scored 30 points in the two games of the Attica Tournament. She also had eight steals and 12 assists. She was named to the All-tournament Team.

PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Mary Kate Tierney of Mercy … Tierney, a senior forward/guard, had 31 points, 18 rebounds and 14 assists over two games at the Bishop Grimes (Syracuse) Tournament.

ROCHESTER LEAGUE: Arriel Dickey of School of the Arts … Dickey, a sophomore center/forward, averaged a double/double in the Wayne Holiday Tournament. She had 11 points and 19 rebounds against Webster Thomas. Then she had 10 points and 13 rebounds against Wayne and was selected to the All-tournament Team. To date she is averaging 9.4 points and 9.8 rebounds a game.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Morgan York of Canisteo-Greeenwood … York, a junior guard, had three big three-point field goals and held Randolph’s leading scorer to three points in the second half enabling C-G to erase a 10 point deficit and win 61-59 in the first round of the Alfred State Tournament. In the championship game, York had 12 points and seven rebounds and hit two free throws at the end of the game to secure an overtime win against Jasper-Troupsburg.

WAYNE COUNTY: Samantha Zerniack of North Rose Wolcott … Zerniack, a senior forward, had 18 points, six rebounds and four steals in a victory last week.

FINGER LAKES WEST: Nick Sciotti … Sciotti, a 5-foot-8 junior guard, had 14 points and four assists in Mynderse’s 75-49 win over Waterloo. He then had 26 points on six-of-10 three-point shooting along with six assists in a 76-47 win over Naples.

GENESEE COUNTY I: Troy Shelnut of Alexander … Shelnut, a 6-foot-1 junior forward, had an 11 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks in a win over Oakfield-Alabama and 16 points (80% from the field), eight rebounds, two blocks and two steals in another win over Kendall.

GENESEE COUNTY II: Daniel Ramsey of Elba … Ramsey, a 5-foot-9 sophomore guard scored 26 points (8-for-11 from the field) with three three-point shots and seven-for-seven from the free throw line and had eight rebounds in a victory over Pembroke.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Jordan VanDunk of Dansville … VanDunk, a 6-foot-4 senior forward, had 22 points and 17 rebounds in a win over Warsaw and 37 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Avon

LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Garrett Kesel of Avon … Kesel, a 6-foot senior guard, had 20 points, and six rebounds against Wayland-Cohocton and 28 points and eight rebounds against Dansville..

MONROE COUNTY I: Kevonte McClain of Fairport … McClain, a 6-foot-6 senior forward, scored 20 points and collected 15 rebounds in a win over Edison and scored nine points and collected 13 rebounds in a win over Canandaigua.

MONROE COUNTY II: Jerame Owens of Spencerport … Owens, a 6-foot-5, sophomore guard/forward, scored 15 points including three three-pointers in a two point win over Greece Olympia.

MONROE COUNTY III: Andrew Hoy of Batavia … Hoy, a 5-foot-10 junior guard, scored 21 points in a win over Greece Odyssey and 22 points … along with six assists … in a win over Pittsford Sutherland.

PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Christian White, Alex Baron and Jammal Coleman of Aquinas … White, a 5-foot-9 sophomore guard, played 95 out of 96 total minutes over three games helping Aquina get three wins. One was a buzzer beater over defending state champion and rival Bishop Kearney. He had 20 assists, and four steals to go along with four points in the win over Kearney. In the 71-50 win over Finney, White scored seven points collected six assists and took two charges. In the win over Marshall, he had 12 points, handed out six assists and took six charges (school record) to go along with five stitches under his chin he needed after the game.

Baron, a 6-foot-5 junior forward, hit the winning shot as time expired against Kearney. He finished the game with 13 points, eight rebounds and took two charges. Against Finney he had 22 points, eight rebounds and two charges. Against Marshall he had 12 pints and seven rebounds.

Coleman, a 6-foot-1 junior guard, scored 19 points including 17 in the second half and 10 in the fourth quarter against Kearney. Then he had 22 points with six steals and four assists against Finney and seven points along with seven assists against Marshall.

ALLEGANY COUNTY: Kylee Ingalls of Bolivar-Richburg and Matt Dean of Fillmore … Ingalls, a 5-foot-10 senior guard, was outstanding in his team’s 71-48 win over Belfast. He scored 32 points on 13-for19 shooting from the floor, hitting four three point shots, grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out four assists.
Dean, a 6-foot-1 junior guard, continued to lead Fillmore (11-1) as he turned in a stellar performance in his team’s 60-44 win over a tough Arkport team. He scorecd 30 points, including 11-for-12 from the free throw line and pulled down 10 rebounds.

CITY CATHOLIC: Cameron Bailey of Wilson … Bailey, a 6-foot-3 senior center had 17 points (12 in second half) and 20 rebounds against Franklin. He has been averaging double digits in points and rebounds for each game.

FINGER LAKES EAST: Erin Edwards-Rhymes of Geneva … Edwards-Rhyme, a 6-foot-4 junior center had 25 points against Penn Yan and 13 points against Midlakes in his team’s two wins last week.

FINGER LAKES WEST: Zach Alsheimer of South Seneeca … Alsheimer, a 6-foot-1 senior guard, had 21 and 29 points in wins over Harley Allendale-Columbia (72-56) and Honeoye (60-55). He also snagged a total of 17 rebounds and 10 steals in the contests.

GENESEE COUNTY II: Robert Burns of Notre Dame-Batavia … Burns, a 6-foot-3 senior forward posted two double/doubles as the Irish defeated Pembroke and Attica. He had 10 points and 10 boards in the 71-33 win over Pembroke and 12 points and 10 rebounds as the Irish rallied from 18 down to beat Attica 50-44.

ALLEGANY COUNTY: David Roorbach of Houghton Academy and Chayse Scott of Genesee Valley … Roorbach, a 6-foot-1 junior forward, scored 23 points, including four three pointers, in a close four point loss to Northstar. He also contributed five assists and 12 rebounds. He came back with 16 point6s in a two-point victory over Faith Heritage. He also had 10 rebounds in this game.
Scott, a 6-foot-1 senior forward, turned in two great efforts in wins over Canaseraga and Jasper-Troupsburg. He put up 25 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, six steals and three blocks against Canaseraga. He then added 18 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, seven steals and two blocks in a close win over JT.

CITY CATHOLIC: Jordan Jones of McQuaid … Jones, a 6-foot-4 senior guard stepped up his play on both ends of the floor as he averaged 23 points and five steals per game in McQuaid’s RCAC League wins over Charlotte and East. Against East, Jones was at his best in “crunch time”, scoring 13 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and overtime to lead the Knights to victory.

FINGER LAKES EAST: Javon McCrea of Newark … McCrea, a 6-foot-7 senior center was instrumental in his team’s two wins last week. He played an especially important role in the win over Pittsford Sutherland when he had 12 points, nine rebounds and eight blocked shots.

FINGER LAKES WEST: Nick Sciotti of Mynderse Academy … Sciotti a 5-foot-8 junior guard, netted six three-pointers on the way to scoring 30 points in an 85-60 win over Romulus.

She followed this performance with 20 points, five rebounds one assist and one steal in a 72-30 loss to Edison. She currently leads Monroe in scoring, assists and is second in steals.

ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Taylor Rose of Cuba-Rushford … Rose, a 5-foot-10, sophomore guard, led the Rebels to wins over Genesee Valley and Houghton last week. Against GV he had 20 points (seven-of-12 including four-of-six three-pointers), four assists, four rebounds and three steals. Against Houghton he had 22 points on nine-of-16 shooting, four assists, four rebounds and three steals.

ALLEGANY COUNTY II: Adam Stark of Andover … Stark, a 6-foot-2, junior guard, led the Panthers to a 59-46 win over Whitesville. He scored 21 points, pulled down 11 rebounds, had six assists and blocked one shot.

FINGER LAKES EAST: Adam Stephens of Palmyra-Macedon … Stephens, a 6-foot-3 senior forward lead Palmyra-Macedon to three wins with 19 points against Penn Yan, 24 points against Geneva and 19 against Waterloo.

FINGER LAKES WEST: Tyler Hixson of Red Jacket … Hixson, a 6-foot-3 junior guard/forward, lead the Indians a 55-30 victory over Naples and a 63-47 victory over Honeoye by scoring 47 points, grabbing 23 rebounds, making nine steals and seven assists as well as having seven blocked shots.

GENESEE COUNTY I: Dave Levchuk of Byron-Bergen … Levchuk, a 6-foot-2 junior forward, had 27 points and 23 rebounds against Holley causing his coach to call his effort, “the most inspiring I’ve seen alls season.” Against Barker he had 12 points and 12 rebounds moving to eight the number of games in a row where he has had a double/double.

GENESEE COUNTY II: Mohammad Akram of Lyndonville … Akram, a 6-foot senior guard scored 18 points against Newfane. Then he had 22 points including five three-pointers against Elba and 12 points including a steal and game winning shot against Lima Christian.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Garrett Kesel of Avon … Named for the second straight week Kesel, a 6-foot senior guard, had 19 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots in a win over York. Then he had 20 points, five rebounds and three assists in a win over Livonia.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Jim Przybylak of Letchworth … Przybylak, a 6-foot-1 senior guard, scored 14 points, made seven assists and three steals in a win over Keshequa and scored 10 points, grabbed three rebounds, and had five assists and two steals in a win over LeRoy.

MONROE COUNTY I: Glenn Taggart of Fairport … Taggart, a 6-foot-2 senior guard, scored 31 points in a road win over Rush-Henrietta and 12 points in a win over Penfield.

MONROE COUNTY II: Steven Klimek of Greece Arcadia … Klimek, a 6-foot-2, sophomore guard, scored 21 points including five three-pointers in a win over cross town rival Greece Athena. He also scored 13 points in a win over Hilton.

MONROE COUNTY III: Tyler Fenti of Honeoye Falls-Lima … Fenti, a 6-foot-2, senior guard/forward, scored 21 points including four three-pointers in a win against Eastridge. He also scored 16 points against Batavia.

PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Jammal Coleman of Aquinas and Chris Valenti of Northstar … Coleman, a 6-foot-1 junior guard, scored 12 points and had five assists in a 50-47 loss to Pittsford Sutherland. He then led Aquinas to a win over Marshall scoring 17 points, hitting three three-pointers and making five steals.
Valenti, a 6-foot, senior guard, scored a career high 36 points, including six three-pointers, in a 81-78 loss to Finney. He also dished out five assists.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Dominic Seidel of Prattsburgh … Seidel, a 5-foot-10 junior guard, scored 19 points including the game-winning three-pointer in a win over Hammondsport putting the Vikings in the semifinals of the Steuben County Tournament. Then he had 12 points in the Vikings win over Jasper-Troupsburg earning a place in the finals this week.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Taryn VanThof of Livonia … A senior guard VanThof totaled 28 points, 21 rebounds, eight steals and nine assists over three games last week which included a loss to Wayland-Cohocton and wins over Penn Yan and Bath-Haverling.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Elise Eberstein of Perry and Danielle Tallo of Pavillon … A junior guard Eberstein scored a career high 12 points while making four steals and three assists in a win over Keshequa.
Tallo, a sophomore forward, had two points, four rebounds, two assists and four steals in a 41-34 win over Caledonia-Mumford. Then she had16 points, nine rebounds, three assists and four steals in a 50-41 win over York.

MONROE COUNTY I: Casey Brett of Irondequoit … Brett, a senior guard and captain, scored 49 points, handed out seven assists, made six steals and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Eagles last week.

MONROE COUNTY II: Kori Bayne-Walker of Gates-Chili … Bayne-Walker, a freshman guard, had 20 points and seven rebounds against Pittsford Sutherland. She also made four crucial foul shots at the end of the game to seal the win. Then she had 24 points against Greece Olympia including four threes.

MONROE COUNTY III: Alex Valenti of Victor … Valenti, a senior forward, scored 39 points and grabbed 24 rebounds over two games last week.

PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Janine Swanson of Nazareth … A senior forward/guard and captain, Swanson had 25 points, 20 rebounds, 12 assists and 10 steals in two wins last week.

FINGER LAKES EAST: Darnell McDuffy of Geneva … A 6-foot-3, junior forward McDuffy had 24 points and 11 rebounds in a 60-42 loss to Aquinas. Then he had 22 points on nine-ror-10 shooting from the floor along with 12 rebounds, five assists and three blocks in an 82-47 win.

FINGER LAKES WEST: Ben Maher of DeSales-Geneva … A 6-foot-1 senior guard Maher led DeSales to a split of their games last week. Maher scored 19 in a victory over Williamson and 16 in a loss to Bloomfield.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Bobby Schuster of Livonia … Schuster, a 6-foot-4 senior guard, had 19 points, 17 rebounds and four assists in a win over Hornell.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Thomas Stein of Caledonia-Mumford … Stein, a 6-foot-4 senior forward/center, scored 19 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and made three blocks in a win over Letchworth.

MONROE COUNTY I: Shane Dobesh of Webster Schroeder … Dobesh, a 6-foot senior guard, scored 11 points including three three-pointers in a win over Fairport.

MONROE COUNTY II: Taylor DiGuardi of Spencerport … DiGuardi, a 5-foot-11, senior guard, scored 17 points in a win over Brockport and 27 points with a total of seven three-pointers against Greece Athena.

MONROE COUNTY III: Brad Ford of Victor … Ford, a 6-foot-4, senior guard, scored 16 points and collected four assists and seven rebounds in a victory over Pittsford Sutherland.

PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Alex Baron of Aquinas and Trevor Maiorano of Lima Christian … Baron, a 6-foot-5 junior forward, scored 16 points and had 11 rebounds in helping Aquinas beat Geneva 62-42. Then in a 69-57 win over rival McQuaid Baron led Aquinas with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Maiorano, a 5-foot-11, senior guard, scored 26 points with seven three pointers in a 72-69 win at Mt. Morris. He was seven-for 11 from behind the arc. He is averaging five three pointers per game this season and has a 40% three point shooting percentage.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Garrett Parker of Prattsburgh … Parker, a 6-foot-3 senior guard/forward, had 30 points, eight rebounds, and two steals in a 61-46 win over Arkport … previous unbeaten in league play … to win the Steuben County Tournament Championship.

WAYNE COUNTY: Kevin Dates of Red Creek … Dates, a 6-foot-4, senior forward/center, scored 26 points including 12-for-15 from the foul line against Honeoye.

ALLEGANY COUNTY: Michelle Sampson of Fillmore … A senior forward/guard and captain Sampson celebrated senior night at her school by tying a school record with seven three pointers on the way to a 30 point effort in a win over Belfast. She also had 11 rebounds and five steals.

FINGER LAKES EAST: Brittany Pritchard of Palmyra-Macedon … A junior guard/forward Pritchard had 18 points, 14 rebounds, four steals and two
blocks against Penn Yan.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Alyssa Englert of Wayland-Cohocton … A senior guard and captain Englert totaled 21 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal in a win over Dansville

.LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Maarcy Ethington of Pavilion … A senior center and captain Ethington had eight points,10 rebounds two assists and a blocked shot in a 43-40 loss to Keshequa. Then she had 12 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocked shots in a 62-24 win over Naples.

MONROE COUNTY I: Tyra Jones of Rush-Henrietta … Jones, a sophomore forward, scored a career high 25 points in a sectional win over Wilson.

MONROE COUNTY II: Margot Hetzke of Penfield … Hetzke, an eighth grade forward, had 35 points and 19 rebounds in two wins last week.

MONROE COUNTY III: Bridget Ryan of Pittsford Sutherland … Ryan, a senior forward, scored 47 points over three games to become Sutherland’s all time leading scorer at 1,373.

PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Alexa Benson of C.G. Finney … A senior guard and captain, Benson had 45 points, six assists and six steals in two wins last week.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Raegan Ryan of Canisteo-Greenwood … Ryan, a junior guard and captain, had 55 points, 18 rebounds, 16 assists and 11 steals in the final two games of the regular season. She is averaging 27 points per game.

2010 BIRDS EYE FOODS-SECTION V BOYS’ BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE YEAR*

ALLEGANY COUNTY I: Dylan Lewis-Ellison of Whitesville. A 6-foot senior guard, Lewis-Ellison averaged 21 points, seven rebounds, 4.6 steals and 3.2 assists a game. He led a very young Whitesville team to a good season at nine win and eleven losses. He led the team in almost every statistical category. He was named first team all league and a member of the Southern Tier “Great 8” as selected by the Wellsville-Hornell paper.

ALLEGANY COUNTY II: Matt Dean of Fillmore. A 6-foot-2 junior guard, Dean averaged 22.8 points and 10 rebounds a game. He shot 64% from the field, 39% from the three-point line and 75% from the free throw line in leading Fillmore to a 19-4 record and the Section V Class D1 Championship. A two-time Allegany County Division I All-Star First Team member, he was named Most Valuable Player in the Section V Class D1 Tournament. He finished the season with 29 points in a 47-45 loss to Houghton in the Class D State Qualifier.

CITY CATHOLIC: Brandon Caruthers of East. A 5-foot-9 senior guard, Caruthers was named Most Valuable Player while leading East to a 17-4 record to date and a 76-53 victory over McQuaid in the Section V Class AA2 Championship Game. He provided 11 points, eight assists and six steals in the victory.

FINGER LAKES EAST: Javon McCrea of Newark. A 6-foot-7 senior center, McCrae is named POTY for the second straight year. He has led Newark to a 20-1 record to date and the Section V Class A2 Championship, scoring 12 points, grabbing eight rebounds and blocking what is believed a tournament record 17 shots in a 57-43 win over Aquinas in the championship game.

FINGER LAKES WEST: David Lynch of Mynderse Academy. A 6-foot-2 junior guard, Lynch led Section V in scoring, averaging close to 24 points a game. He also hit on 80% of his free throws and scored on 34% of his three point attempts in leading Mynderse to a 23-0 record to date and the Section V Class C1 Championship ... its first since 1994. They also beat Perry behind Lynch’s 19 points in the Class C State Qualifier Game. He was also the team’s leading rebounder averaging seven per game. An excellent student, he has a 3.56 GPA to date and is interested in becoming an architectural engineer.

GENESEE: Brian Mitchell of Holley. A 6-foot-5 senior forward, Mitchell is a three-year varsity player and three-time Genesee Region League All-Star. He recorded over 1,000 points during his basketball career at Holley including 302 this year when he averaged over 15 ppg. Other stats include eight rebounds and three blocked shots per game as he helped Holley post the best record (13-6) since the 1990-1991 season. He is Holley’s all-time leading three-point shooter with 119 career three point field goals. This season he was a Birds Eye Player of the Week as well as a Holley Christmas Tournament All-Star.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Bobby Schuster of Livonia. Schuster, a 6-foot-4 senior guard, averaged more than 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals a game. He had seven double/doubles during the regular season. Livonia finished 15-6 losing to Batavia in the Section V Class B1 Championship game despite 19 and seven rebounds from Schuster.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Jack Jeffres of Pavilion. Jeffres, a 6-foot-6 senior forward, averaged more than17 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and two steals per game. He led Pavilion to a 14-7 record and the Section V Class C2 Sectional Semifinals where they lost by two points to Perry at the buzzer.

MONROE COUNTY I: Mandell Thomas of Rush-Henrietta. Thomas, a 6-foot-2 junior guard, is a three-year varsity player. This year he led the Royal Comets to the Division I Championship and the Section V Class AA1 Championship. He was the leading scorer in the division at more than 22 points a game. He also averaged six rebounds, three assists and four steals per game. He has already been contacted by the University of Buffalo and Niagara University.

MONROE COUNTY II: Casey Sheehan of Greece Athena. Sheehan, a 5-foot-10 senior guard, is an honor roll student who is a two-year starter for the Greece Athena Trojans. As junior, he helped lead the Trojans to a Division II Co-Championship, a Section V Championship and a state quarterfinal appearance. As a senior, Sheehan was one of Athena’s captains. He led his 14-6 team in scoring, assists and steals and has been named to play in the Ronald Mc Donald All-Star Game. He is planning on signing a basketball scholarship to Daeman College in Buffalo.

MONROE COUNTY III: Nick Billow of Pittsford Mendon. Billow, a 6-foot-4 senior guard, averaged over 27 points, eight rebounds and three assists per game. He scored 458 points in 17 regular season games this year that ranks second behind only Greg Monroe for single-season scoring for Mendon. He is also one of the top five career scorers for Mendon. Twice he scored a school-record 43 points in one game. He wants to major in biology or psychology and carries an 85 average.

PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Jammal Coleman of Aquinas. A 6-foot-1 junior guard, Coleman averaged 15 points, four assists, three steals and four rebounds a game. Coleman also led the Little Irish in three-point scoring and three-point field goal percentage. He was named Birdseye Player of the Week three times this season in leading Aquinas to a 15-6 record. The Little Irish lost 53-47 to Newark in the Section V Class A2 Championship Game.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Brennan Thurber of Jasper-Troupsburg. Thurber, a 6-foot-5 senior center, led the Wildcats to a 14-5 record and a spot in the Section V Class D1 Quarterfinals. He averaged 21 points and 14 rebounds a game and was selected as league MVP and to the Southern Tier “Great 8” as selected by the Wellsville-Hornell paper.

WAYNE COUNTY: Brad LeFevre of Marion. LeFevre, a 6–foot-4 senior center, finished his season averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds a game. He had 28 points and 20 rebounds against Lyons and led the Black Knights in scoring in 15 out of 18 regular season games. He ended up leading his team in scoring, rebounds, shooting percentage and most foul shots … scoring in double digits in every game he played.

2010 BIRDS EYE FOODS SECTION V GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE YEAR*

ALLEGANY COUNTY: Kristen Moose of Canaseraga. A senior forward/guard and captain, Moose averaged 23.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.3 steals a game in leading the Indians to an 18-4 record and the Section V Class D Championship where she was named Most Valuable Player. Canaseraga lost 61-54 to Elba in the Class D State Qualifier despite 34 points by Moose. A three-year member of the National Honor Society, Moose also plays varsity soccer and softball. Colleges that have expressed interest in her for next year include Roberts Wesleyan, Geneseo, Medaille, Nazareth and Brockport.

FINGER LAKES EAST: Rachael Roddenbery of Penn Yan. A junior center/forward, Roddenbery led her 12-8 team to the quarterfinals of the Section V Class BB Tournament. She scored 232 points (13 pg), and grabbed 125 rebounds (seven pg) and shot 41% from the field.

FINGER LAKES WEST I: Casi Strait of Dundee. A junior guard, Strait scored over 300 points (17pg) and grabbed over 100 rebounds (6.5 pg). The Scotsman finished 9-10.

FINGER LAKES WEST II: Sarah Hart of Bloomfield. A senior forward and captain, Hart scored 385 points (19.3 pg), made 48 steals (2.4 pg) and grabbed 151 rebounds (7.5 pg) in leading the Bombers to a 14-6 record.

GENESEE: Julie Brooks of Holley A junior forward and captain, Brooks averaged over 13 points and nine rebounds per game in leading her team to an 11-8 record and the quarterfinals of the Section V Class B Tournament. She paced her team in points scored, assists, steals and blocks this year.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Alyssa Englert of Wayland-Cohocton. A senior guard, Englert will finish her career as the all time scoring (over 1,500 points) assists and steals leader in school history. She averaged 16.5 points, four assists four rebounds and four steals per game this season. She led the Lady Eagles to a 17-4 record and its third consecutive Section V Class BB Championship and was named Most Valuable Player. Englert will represent the LCAA in the 2010 Ronald McDoanld House Charity Game and will be attending the Unviersity of Hartford next year playing for UConn graduate, Jen Rizzotti.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Amie Brooks of Pavilion. A senior guard, Brooks led Pavilion to the Section V Class C finals where the Lady Gophers lost in overtime to Keshequa. She averaged 19.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.4 steals and 2.5 steals per game this season. Brooks holds the school record for points scored (1,093), steals (330) and assists (235). She was named to the 2010 Class C All-Tournament Team as well as to the LCAA Division III All County Team. She will represent the LCAA in the 2010 Ronald McDonald House Charity Game and will play at Alfred State next season.

MONROE COUNTY I: Allyson DiMagno of Fairport. DiMagno, a senior forward repeats as a Player of the Year. She is averaging 25.4 points, 15 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.3 assists a game this season while leading (20-2) Fairport to the Section V Class AAA Championship where she was named Class AAA Most Valuable Player. The Red Raiders went on to beat Mercy 68-60 in the Class AA State Qualifier Game thanks to 27 points, , a career-high 29 rebounds, seven steal and six assists from DiMagno. She has over 1,700 career points and more than 900 career rebounds. She will be attending Cornell in the fall.

MONROE COUNTY II: Naquasha “Shy” Britton of Greece Arcadia. Britton, a senior forward and captain, repeats as a Player of the Year. She led her 20-2 team to the Section V Class A Championship and was named Class A Most Valuable Player. She has scored over 1,000 points in her career and is the all-time shot block leader for Arcadia. Named first team All County in 2008, 2009 and 2010, she will be playing for Niagara University next season.

MONROE COUNTY III: Shelby Fogarty of Pittsford Mendon. Fogarty, a junior forward, averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals a game this season. She led Mendon to a 15-5 record and a quarterfinal berth in the Section V Class A Tournament.

PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL: Donna Barrington of Bishop Kearney. A senior guard, Barrington averaged over 16 points, 12 rebounds and six steals a game this past season for a team that finished 6-13. She led Kearney in points scored, rebounds and steals.

ROCHESTER LEAGUE: Briana Seda of Marshall. Seda, a senior forward/guard and captain, led Marshall to a 12-6 record. The Jurists lost to Pittsford Sutherland in the quarterfinals of the Section V Class A Tournament. She averaged 21.2 points, six rebounds and six assists per game this season. She will graduate in June in the top five of her class and hopes to pursue a college degree in criminal justice. The winner of the Susan B. Anthony Award, she is currently employed by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department through its Youth Apprenticeship Program.

STEUBEN COUNTY: Raegan Ryan of Canisteo-Greenwood. Ryan, a junior guard and captain, averaged 27.3 points a game in leading the Redskins to a 16-4 record. She led her team in rebounds (195), assists (122), steals (100) and points scored (545), shooting 48% from two-point range, 32% from three-point range and 76% from the free throw line.

WAYNE COUNTY: Shannon McGinnis of Gananda. McGinnis, a junior forward, became the first Gananda girl basketball player to surpass 1,000 career points. Overall she averaged 17.7 points, nine rebounds and five steals a game this season in leading Gananda to a 20-2 record and the Section V Class CC Championship Game. She was named to the Class CC All-Tournament Team.
